i'm surprised no one here has expressed dismay at system of a down's toxicity being ranked #2. There are usually plenty of haters
FWIW, I think its a fucking great album.

Nah it isn't the usual tirade directed soley at them that we are used to here hahaSee posts 7 and 17.
Such as? This is for 2000-2010.
I would have taken off Airbourne and NIN and put both of Protest the Hero's albums on there. Kezia is easily top 20. I also wouldn't have rated Death Magnetic that high but see no problem paying homage to the pioneers.
I guess Im more into 80s/90s metal cause I think a good chunk of the list blows.
I like modern metal and that list blows. At least half of those bands aren't even metal and of the ones that are they picked fucking terrible albums.
For example, why would they pick "Come Clarity" from In Flames when "Clayman" was also released in this decade and is about 1000000x better :hmm: Probably because half of "Come Clarity" is whiny metalcore like a bunch of the other albums on the list.
Glad to see Nightwish and Lacuna Coil even show up on that list. But seriously some of those albums in the top 10 don't belong there. Death Magnetic was alright but after listening to it 50 times I have 0 interest in hearing it again unlike Once and Comalies that I listen to almost every day...
In flames is depressing ....
I used to LOVE them in the late 90s (held them with very very high reguard, thought they were on the same level as At the Gates and Opeth)... was so psyched to see them come to Milwaukee for their first US show... loved seeing them in small venues...
Whoracle was by far their best album IMO.... Jester Race was awesome, Lunar Strain awesome as well. Then, Colony came out. It was different, it had good songs, but nothing stood out as fantastic.. yea, new lineup in the band, so things are gonna be different ... but It just didn't seem to have that same aggression that their earlier albums had. It still kicked ass, but seemed to be missing something. Clayman came out, and it confirmed things for me, the music got simpler IMO, the guitars less exciting... they were losing their edge. Still a good CD, but IMO a big step down from Colony.
Reroute came out, and I honestly didn't enjoy that album at all, whole damn thing sounded like rapcore or metalcore or whatever the hell they call it ... And I haven't listened to anything new from them since ... they just don't interest me any more ... meh

/grats to Rob Flynn selling out less than prior.
I thought the list was pretty good. Everyone complaining about Death Magnetic being near the top needs to STFU. There are some damn good songs on the album, even if it's not a cover to cover classic.
I listened to 2 and a half minutes of the first song (from your link). I lolled at how abysmal it is. I cried for the horrible state music is in, and cried more for the ever-declining artistic (autistic) taste of society.
*shrugs* I seem to feel the exact opposite. I thought Lunar Strain was a terrible album, and just sounded like noise. Clayman is probably my overall favorite. I didn't care for Colony much, though I liked Reroute to Remain and Sountrack to your Escape quite a bit. Whoracle and Jester Race are pretty good as well. Come Clarity had a few really good tracks that were dragged down by a lot of shitty ones.
