Get the DVD-Audio version of Black Album, that's some asskicking soundquality.

It's a shame Mustaine couldn't get a grip - I can't imagine how awesome they would be with him.
Interesting thought, I wonder where Metallica would be today if he had stayed, maybe they'd still be making good music.
Of course, as thedarkwolf said, if he would have, we wouldn't have Megadeth, that would suck

Hammett didn't have much writing credit at all, (at least prior to Load). Are you saying Mustaine would definitely be writing all that time ? I only thought of Jaymz and Lars as the MetallicA braintrust for writing.

Ungreatful? What should he be greatful for? He wanted to make music... there wasn't enough music making going on so he got pissed and eventually left.

He actually wanted to make his own music while they were on hiatus, but James and Lars wouldn't let him do it.

Score!

That is dirt cheap! I never ever see Metallica CD's at used shops for less than 8-9 bucks. Score for you.

Nah, not saying that, just that he could have influenced the band more than enough to make a difference, he is an asskicking songwriter, so I kinda doubt he wouldn't have.

Listening to "The Wait".

"Call of Ktulu" will be after that, then "Intoxication" by Disturbed, then "5 Minutes Alone" by Pantera.

Hell yeah.

you really muct be crazy to think Black is better then Lightning or Kill em all

kill em all is just so raw is outstanding, lightning is still raw but a better album lyricially and musicially,

He got the opportunity of a lifetime to join Metallica in 86. He was ungrateful and wanted to be able to do his own thind, and still be in the band. Idiot.

I think St. Anger is the only CD that I ever bought and then threw away.

Yep, exactly how i would order it. The black album is a radio favorite that just doesn't live up to the first 4, but its just better than that other stuff they released.

Nope...I gave up on them when they got pissed at Napster...Their old stuff is kicks serious butt, so don't get me wrong I used to like them, but then they turned into patsy's for the music industry (RIAA).

after seeing the documentary, i wouldn't be shocked if metallica breaks up, or at least James leave the band.
