Metro 2033 and Last Light Redux uncovered

They were vague about the PC improvements other than 4k support, I'm betting there's no real improvement there which makes getting them, even at 50% off, not very tempting.

Main improvements for PC are:

1) Global illumination
2) Terrain tessellation
3) Performance improvements including native 64 bit support
4) Animation and A.I improvements
5) PhysX update

I found corroborative statements from the dev for all of these except the last one. The PhysX improvements is my own guesstimate seeing as the entire engine is being updated. It wouldn't make sense to update everything but leave the older PhysX SDK in place.

Seriously.... I already paid for all the DLC, and I already had the upgraded graphics. Don't really care for additional challenge since it was challenging enough for me.

the performance on the Xbox One and PS4 is extremely impressive, locked at 60FPS, also I can't say the game is not looking great compared to the PC version, I'm really curious to see how the Redux version is going to perform on the PC compared to the original PC Last Light which is really heavy.

yes, Witcher 1 EE was a huge update and totally free, I think they should do the same with last light at least.

"best fps" ...

mob hitboxes changing with the animations (and zero movement inertia), coupled with having some of the worst weapons ever made doesn't make for a "best of".

they were first person adventure / storytelling games, and tbh, far inferior to stalker.

Xbox One version isn't 1080p though, 912p.

The original plan of developers was to ship Xbox One version of Metro: Redux at 900p, but this small improvement in resolution comes after June SDK update which frees up Kinect GPU resources to developer.

considering the XBone GPU is slower than a 260x, 900P 60FPS is very impressive on Metro Last Light.

Now that is just an odd thing to up, why go the extra 12p? is it going to make that much difference?

Looks like I was right. Metro 2033 and Last Light Redux both have upgraded PhysX 3.x support so the PhysX effects should more optimized and more varied

Playing on Ranger mode (not the hardest one, the one before it). I am so stuck, in the camp with burboun where you are in the air shaft and come out, good lord, so many guys on BOTH sides of the vent...

You can, but why would you? They're both amazing first-person-shooters and you should play both of them.

eh unless they released it as a upgrade to the one everyone already owns (even for a fee) not going to bother. These games aren't that old, and they should have done it to begin with, not a year down the road. Too many other games.

First technical review of the game on PC via PCgameshardware.de

Looks awesome! They did a lot of retexturing and added a lot more detail to the environments and cloud shadows for the surface.. Plus the performance increased for NVidia hardware in the Redux version it seems by quite a bit, but AMD hasn't released optimized drivers for the new version yet..

What's the point of playing a game if all you are going to do is RUN through it and not fight?
