Metro 2033......Spoilers Inside.

Hi all.....I have not visited these forums for quite awhile...due to password and username problems, but finally got that sorted out.....been looking for another pc gaming forum site....so here I am.

I am currently playing Metro 2033....and despite the bad reviews the game has gotten, I have enjoyed it very much. The atmosphere of this game is just outstanding....it starts out kind of slow, but really picks up.

Anybody else here enjoying this game?

I am playing on XP and in Direct X 9 with settings on high at 1920 x1080.......I know....i just never bought into all the direct x 10 hype, and glad I didnt really......when direct x 11 gets sorted out , then I will upgrade to windows 7 and get new video card......but for now these GTX 260's in sli have performed over my expectations.

I'm still playing through but have been enjoying it as well. I haven't gotten in any game time since last weekend and now that you mentioned it I think I may go play a bit more Metro in a few minutes.

This was definitely a fun, albeit short, game. There were some intense moments for me where I had low health, ammo, health packs and filters and I would just run like hell to get to a checkpoint.

I agree.....I have had low ammo alot....it is definitely a survivor, horror game.

I finished it last Thursday, took me a few days (few weeks cause I don't have time on weekdays). It was okay, not worth the full $50 price tag I paid though. Graphics are amazing, first game to rape my new system (even Crysis runs good).

I was expecting something more open ended, STALKER style as opposed to a linear
rail" shooter. Guns were a bit disappointing, and I got most of my kills stealthily since most of the game is so dark. The mutants were annoying, story was ok. I'd give it a 7.5, don't plan on playing it again.

Was pretty meh... last good survival horror game was dead space, before that resident evil 3.

I loved it, just beat the game the other day and got the bad ending...the game raped my system as well though...time for upgrades.

I'm really impressed with Metro 2033, and I'm a bitter jaded gamer so that's saying something. I do wish there were twice the content (game length was fine to me,though) and something open-ended.

It really is a gem, and one of the few games actually worth $50 that I've bought in a long, long while.

I agree....I rarely buy a game new, when it is first released.....I get most of my stuff used off of e-bay/

I did buy Metro new and paid $50......but at least the game was $50 worth of fun :awe:
