Meh.

The others were quite boring and extremely pretty.
They are the Megan Fox of video games.

Looks great. Still haven't played Last Light, even though I bought it years back.

To be honest it does show that they're 8 months away from release. I could spot a number of situations where the A.I. was basically non-existent (staring at a wall doing absolutely nothing, conveniently to show "stealth" approach, or a guard actually looking in the direction of another guard barely 5 meters away being taken down "silently" but having zero reaction to it whatsoever, etc). Also, the talk about dynamic ecosystems and A.I. critters in the environment having their own routines and needs... that stuff I heard it all the way back with Shadow of Chernobyl (the "A-Life" system), and it wasn't exactly the way they portrayed or described it (only mods would vastly improve on that, especially one for Call of Pripyat).

The thing is I take everything with a giant grain of salt whenever a developer says they have any form of "intelligent" A.I. behaviors in their game. If there's one thing in the gaming industry that probably moved just about an inch in 20 years of progression it's definitely A.I., which is usually on the cognition level of a cockroach.

Now, with this said, the atmosphere looks good, and I like the game's setting. I never played the previous Metro games, but Exodus could be my first. We'll see in Feb. 2019.

I'm really looking forward to this one, and enjoyed the previous Metro games.

If anything, I'm very happy to see that the air is breathable. Always hated the mask / filter replacement stuff in the previous games.

I have a love/hate relationship with these games. On one hand I really dig the dark atmosphere and realism but on the other I typically just wish it was Stalker.

It feels pretty claustrophobic too at times but I think that's kind of the point. They could certainly do a lot with this though.

Just play STALKER.

Yeah - when I first heard of this series I was hoping it would give STALKER vibes, but they really have very little in common.

FEAR still has the best combat AI and that was released in 2005!

I think in ways AI has went backwards and I think that's to do in part by how large open world games are dominating the market, its a lot harder to code AI when your level design has a lot of variables. Game designers make levels to engage the player, but hardly think about how the AI is going to interact with the level design. The best thing about the FEAR AI was how it used the map layout to its advantage to create an engaging experience.

You guys are speaking too soon about AI in Exodus because this is only a beta demo. It is 8 months until release and will likely be postponed as usual.

Just finished replaying 2033 Redux last week. Awesome game, actually got the non-canon "Good Ending" this time.

Win 10? What is so special about Win 10?
Does it make game run like magic?

The game is now exclusive to the Epic Games Store platform for 1 year apparently. Those that pre-ordered it still get the game however it was being sold for a long time, still a disgusting decision.

Valve should just refund everyone and throw up a big FU to publishers who do that shit.

Game designers dont look to implement strong AI because they are scared of "hurting" the players and making their game too difficult for a portion of their potential customers.
(I do know Dark Souls exists)
AI of the quality of FEAR .. and others vastly superior, too, are available. They just dont wind up in AAA games.

I noticed that earlier today too, when I checked my wish list. Lousy of Deep Silver to pull shady stunts like that, not a good look.

No big deal.

I have enough unplayed content, including the original Metro 2033, that I won't miss any of the new releases until they're fully patched and on sale in their GOTY form on steam a year from now.

Hell they can wait three years and I wouldn't miss it.

I don't see how this is at all shady. Anyone that preordered on steam is still getting it. Bonus, it is $10 cheaper on epic.

I'm not complaining. I couldn't give two wet piles of crap about today's Valve software personally.

All I'm saying is to pull a game from a popular and proven distribution platform to make it exclusive to another because "it's good for PC gaming" is dumb.

How... beautiful.

Zombies and post-apocalypse don't bother me, I can't help but admire it.

I like the fact there are different locations and different ways to interact with them. I am impressed by falling snow. I already like the game.

The only bad things - I had no opportunity to preorder and now I've read I won't be able to get it on Steam until February 14th.

Win 7 will not support DX12 how f.... up is that? Millions and millions of people are still using win 7.

So I have to install another software to get this game? This is ridiculous
