The spigot for cheap labor for the rich and corporations has been slowly being turned off because they ran the well dry.

Now the human fallout begins.

The only thing I hope is that history gets it right and shows that this was the doing of the Bush Republicans.

This was no different than shipping manufacturing to China.

Mexicans deported from US face shattered lives

TIJUANA, Mexico - The towering black gate opens silently to an alley with walls of corrugated metal. Scrawled in large white letters on one wall is: "The End."

Every time the gate slams shut, it wipes out a dream, divides a family, ends a life lived in the shadows of the law.

On average, 700 Mexicans expelled from the United States walk through this gate daily, according to Mexican government figures. They include farmers, construction workers, prisoners, nannies, children, entire families.

U.S. deportations have jumped by more than 60 percent over the past five years. Mexicans accounted for nearly two-thirds of those deportees, helping to roll back one of the biggest migrations of recent history. All along the border, shelters once full of people trying to cross into the United States are now home to thousands of deportees who sleep on mattresses strewn inches apart on cement floors.

In a week spent at the Tijuana gate, The Associated Press watched busload after busload of deportees arrive, some in a daze, still stunned over their sudden expulsion. Many stumbled over the Mexican official's question, "Where are you from?" after spending decades in the United States.

The faces of those who stream through reflect how tough and far-reaching the U.S. crackdown on illegal immigration has become.

Dude is a capitalist economy. The rich control the govt. do you think that the Dems or whoever is elected next will have the balls to stand up to them ??? forget it dude.
The next presidential candidates have already started shifting positions influenced by lobyists.
We live in fucked up times, the best we can hope for is that the fall of US which will go down in history next to the fall of Roman Empire is gradual enough to go past our lifetime

I thought you didn't like illegal immigration, now you're running a sob story on it?

As for shattered lives, that?s tough but obviously not tough enough as the flood continues unabated. It is our failure that they even stayed long enough to consider this their home.

Americans need to decide, do we want a second culture to rival our own within our land? We do want millions of uneducated and impoverished people? Do we want the ramifications of overpopulation? Bring the military home and place them on the border before the real sob story becomes our shattered nation and OUR shattered lives as a result of it.

Maybe so... But when you break the law, things like this will happen.

Actions have consequences.

What about the Corporations and Politicians they bought?

They are not only equally as guilty they conjured up the scheme.
Corporations and Politicians didnt "bring" them here, at the most they Lured them here and in that case the mexicans had a choice and they choose to break the law and they were punished. AND by deporting them US didnt do any harm, US just put them back where they were before.

Its the political season effecting their judgement, which Obama supporters never have of their own

WAAAAAA....guess while they were here they should have gained some skills.

Some of that under the table money that they paid no taxes on should have been able to fund some sort of education or a trade so that they had something to all back on or so they could "better themselves."

If they are going to be that goddamned stupid good get them the hell out......they will do nothing but become a bigger burden in the future.

This story blows apart the whole "they come here to better themselves" bullshit.

You came here to better yourself?....how so?...you were a vegetable picker in Mexico....and then sneaked across the border to be a vegetable picker in the US for 10 years and did nothing else with your life.....cry me a fucking river.

Your english hurts my brain... Are you saying that illegals bought politicians? Or that EVIL corporations bought politicians and told them to ignore the problem so they could have cheaper labor?

Either way, it doesn't excuse illegals from breaking the law. If you're here illegally it shouldn't be a huge surprise when you get booted.

Should people who knowingly hire illegals be punished? Of course. Nobody is arguing that. What's your point?

There was no illegal immigration under Clinton, or at least no returned people. IRS never deported anybody until Bush took office

Pfft, it's shooting fish in a barrel with Dave.

US should ban foreigners from holding US jobs, Dave rants on Mexico some ("The Mexican takeover of the U.S. is nearly complete.")

http://forums.anandtech.com/me...did=1652203&arctab=yes
Dave gets a thread locked for being racist against Mexicans

edit: fixed links

My favorite quote:

"They also tend to have up to 20 people in a house and paint the house all kinds of wild colors. Many of them keep noisy chickens in the back yard for dinner too. "
