Uh, actually the white dude was the main character in the movie and in many ways was the hero.
Right, and he acted like people don't get upset by reverse discrimination. People do.

I am sorry that this offends some people, but I also am glad that some people out there still have the cajones to not be pressured by the PC crowd. Like one political commentator said, the right to not be offended is nowhere in the constitution.....
You do realize that we're talking about Mexico right? The US Constitution doesn't apply there and its irrelevant.
Do you think racism is wrong?
The constitution doesn't apply in Mexico?? OK, thanks for informing me of that. Anyway, my general point in my earlier post is that the PC movement, if not stopped, will eventually mean that the only way to communicate without offending "someone" will be freakin hand signals, and eventually somebody who was slapped as a child will be offended by that.

So you wouldn't mind if a white person was portrayed in an offensive manner?Originally posted by: Jmman

You mean like "White men can't Jump"...............already happend. Did'nt mind.. funny movie. I could just imagine the outrage if they made a movie called "Black men can't think"
A double standard certianly exists.

So what? The "black men can't think" movie could be about baseball about Reggie Jackson who has an IQ over 190.. title still would'nt fly would it? Hence double standard

Has anyone here read this comic? I think it's not possible to estimate the racism without knowing the comics (I didn't read it either). All I've found is this encyclopedia entry.
Other than dahunan's it isn't my opinion that this character is drawn in a disrespecting (monkey-like) manner. In many funnies, characters are drawn out of proportion.
To be racist by my standard, the comic would have to not only portray the racial and social unequalities, but glorify them in some way.
Publisher Manelick De la Parra told the government news agency Notimex that the character would be sort of a goodwill ambassador on Mexican letters and postcards. "It seems nice if Memin can travel all over the world, spreading good news," de la Parra said, calling him "so charming, so affectionate, so wonderful, generous and friendly."

Its sort-of hard to tell race when a dudes name is "CanOWorms". Nothing to differentiate him. That being said I think hes the only minority here.

Read the thread, at least someone else posted. This entire forum has many minorities.

If anyone is interested in the ethnic, national, and religious make up of P&N: check out my poll:
P&N Demographics
Funny how some people think P&N is all white and how others think it is mostly muslim and unamerican (I'd have to say the all-white view is more accurate).
