I just booked a room at the MGM Grand (Emerald Tower) for $59.95 (65.34 with fees/taxes). Most other vegas deal sites are listing the cheapest room at around $80. Simply call and ask for the Hot Summer Nights Deal, or Economy rate on rooms. This has been posted on many mailers and websites. I don't really consider it a code. If it is, I will remove it immediately.

If no one is interested, I am sure this will fade off the board, but now is a great time to go to Vegas. I got a flight on Southwest from LAX to Vegas for $55.00 after taxes and fees. I am going 9/17 - 9/20. Just a heads up for people looking for a great deal on a trip to Vegas...

How big are these rooms?

I was looking for a place to stay and this sounds very good.

MGM is nice but the odds are better at Stratosphere... according to the Travel Channel.

I like the Stratosphere, but thats just because I have family that works there so I pay $20 a night for a nice room.

Here's what cheapovegas.com had to say about the MGM Grand. They were dead on about the Luxor, so I trust them some, but YMMV.

Bah, just get an Aunt who gambles away untold thousands each year and you can have rooms free whenever you want them.

We stayed in the MGM Grand Emerald Tower last summer. We were in the very last rooms on the "Strip" end of the hotel. We got down to the valet and I realized that I'd left the valet ticket back in the room. I told everyone to wait, that I would just "run back up" and get the ticket (any of you who have stayed there are already laughing at me).

Suffice it to say that my room was as far as physically possible from the front desk while still remaining in the same "building". I got off the elevator and started walking down the very long, very straight hallway. I had done this several times prior, but this time I was in a hurry and was really moving -- almost jogging -- down the hall. When I got to the room, got the ticket, and turned to go back to the elevator, I decided to time it.

It took me three solid minutes -- as in almost exactly 180 seconds -- to walk at a near-jog from my room to the elevator.

I need you to stop and think about that for a minute. Three minutes. How much ground can you cover at a fast walk in three minutes? Think about the last hotel you stayed in and think about how long it would have taken you to walk from the far end of the hall to the elevator? Maybe ten or fifteen seconds, seriously?

Anyway, my point is that you should try to make sure you get a room near one of the elevator banks if you can. Preferably the main lobby elevators, and not the ones over by the Rainforest Cafe. If you have a rental car or if you intend to take taxis around town, you'll want to be near the front desk area. Mark my words.

And make sure you ride the roller coaster on top of New York, New York.

The rooms in the Emerald tower are quite a bit further away from the deluxe rooms. The lady on the phone said that usually younger people travelling light don't mind the Emerald tower cause the rooms were just remade. Apparanently they bought out an adjacent hotel and connected those. The pictures look nice.

I usually go to Studio 54 at least twice on a trip. That is $10 (for guys) cover on weekdays and $20 on weekends...so, staying there sayes me $20-30 in cover charges. This room goes for around $80 on there site as well as on expedia and hotels.com. I was really happy to get it this cheap. Plus, it is near everything else on the strip.

I am young, and busting wih energy, a little walk is not a bad thing for me...but I agree with Acme, I heard reviews saying that this hotel is just too freaking big.

I stayed at MGM once. I must say that I loved the rooms. They're pretty huge in my opinion.
