I have a set of Micca mb42x, last night right in the middle of Mr. Crowley the left speaker died. Both the tweeter and woofer are non operational.
I pulled the speakers apart and all wiring is secure and tight with no signs of corrosion.
Micca has agreed to supply a one new speaker for $15 shipping, however the caps on the crossover on the working speaker are bulging. I didn't see any obvious damage on the broken speaker.
I'm thinking the problem has to be the crossover unit as there doesn't seem to be anything else to fail other than the tweeter and woofer and it seems unlikely that both would fail at the same time. Is there any way I can further troubleshoot the dead speaker?
I can get two new crossover units for $ 30.00 free shipping.
Seeing as the caps are bulging on the good speaker already I'm thinking it makes sense two just order a set of new crossover units for an extra $15.
