looks like McCartney will finally be able to buy back his beatles stuff.
wasn't MJ forced to sell off a big chunk of them?
edit: or was it that he had to take out loans using them as collateral? it'll be interesting to see how this shakes out.
Info
According to executives involved in the restructuring talks, Mr. Jackson used the catalog, as well as copyrights to his own songs, as collateral for roughly $270 million in bank loans he took out to fund a spending spree that includes upkeep for his sprawling California ranch, Neverland, and other exotic luxuries.
Given how precarious Mr. Jackson's financial situation appears to be, it is unclear how long he will be able to retain his remaining stake in his prized music catalog. A reckoning appears near, and Mr. Jackson's ability to hold onto his fortune has proven to be as fleeting as stardom itself.

The weird thing about unexpected celebrity deaths is how quickly their obituary/life story articles come out. I mean, CNN already has 2 up. They obviously write them ahead of time and fluff them up every year or so. Kind of morbid.
They have it premade - there was a faux pass couple years ago when cnn posted an obituary for a living person (jimmy carter iirc)

If Conan O'Brian spends another 10 minutes doing his unfunny jokes before he mentions Michael Jackson, I'm going to be furious.

Just a thought, whoever bought Neverland Ranch could make $$$. Same thing with those memorabilias. I just wonder if his estate will be making $$$ in the future just like Elvis.
