He broke two ribs while in a practice game.

He said this isn't the end of his come back and he will still try to make a come back.

Heard it on the news tonight.

Maybe this will convince him that his would be making a mistake by coming back. Mike, I was never a big fan of yours, but don't diminish your legend by showing people what a darn near 40 year old man playing against kids looks like.

Jordan would not get killed or made a fool of. But he would no longer be Jordan. Even in his last two years he was no longer a top defensive player. Iverson could get around him (just as Iverson can get around everyone else) which is something that a younger Jordan, like the Jordan from the first dynasty would never have allowed. There are a few guys who can out play him now.

I think he would be similar in effectiveness to Reggie Miller orMitch Richmond in his last year with Sacramento or first year with the Wiz. Not to say that he would play their game, he would still play his. He would just rely way more on his post game and jumpers and would rarely take it to the hole. Basically I think he would put up around 18-22ppg. His rebounding would go down a bit but he would likely pass the ball more and get a few more assists. He would still play good D but not be able to lock down the top players in the league.

This would still not be right. I would hate to see him come back a shadow of his former self, unable to dominate and totally control a game. There is no better way to end a career than on a game winning jumper in the last game of the finals and I would hate to see him try.

That really stinks, I hope this doesn't delay him too much from coming back (if he ever was).

There may be a crack in Michael Jordan's attempt to return to the NBA.

What? He wanted to return to the NBA? I thought he retired for good last time! :|

Yes, but he didn't WANT to go out at that point. The only reason he retired is because Phil Jackson left the Bulls. MJ wanted to play a few more years and win a few more championships, he's said as much.
As far as his abilities now, I'll concede that he may not be quite as strong on defense as before, but there's still nobody in the NBA right now that will be able to guard him, and only the best, top-flight players will be able do get past him on D. The average players he will still shut down.

We will see, I have heard he hasnt looked so dominant in pick up games in the DC area (in particular playing up at Georgetown). Supposedly Keith Bogans (went to Kentucky and is from the area) was giving Jordan all he could handle and talking trash at the same time.

Hmm i heard that it's still unknown for sure that he is gonna make a come back or not....oh well, either way, he is rusty, lol.

I don't think you can make a fool of Jordan at this point.
Hes a god in the sport.
Even if he comes back and sinks like 15-20 a game, Id say he looks better then a 23yr old doing the same thing.
Bring him back as a setup man, like Mario and the pens.

He definitely should not come back. Right now, he's a legend. It's like when Ali tried to come back when he fought Holmes. He's a damned good businessman and that's where he should stay.

The league will pay cash for jordan to come back. The way the ratings went during the playoffs, the nba needs something, anything to get more attention. And it's hard for someone as competitive as jordan to see such a bad team like the LA Lakers win the championship. hehehe. But all jokes aside, jordan's an old man. He'll come back if he thinks he can play. He's always played in the off season either to better his game or gauge his skills against others. Otherwise, he'll be smart and earn the real $$$ as an executive.

It'd be fun to see MJ back. And the league wants it obviously...the Wizards beating the odds and "winning" the number one pick? Hehe, I'd LOVE to actually see those balls come out.

Normally I'm kind of skeptical about rumours but after Vecsey AND Aldridge were reporting it (the two most reliable NBA reporters), I'd have to say that Jordan's return is a when not if.

Its all about the money. Mario came back, got worldwide coverage, made the franchise over $100 million half a year, and the Penguins actually made money for the first time in years. Although Jordan has no story compared to Mario (his cancer, back problems, and being owed millions and becoming part owner of the team), Jordan is like Mario + Gretzky, and basketball is a lot bigger than hockey, so the amount of money to be made would be unbelievable.

I heard on TV that he was practicing with Isiah Thomas and Thomas said "if Jordan stopped smoking and drinking he would be as good as ever" or something. Does that make any sense? Jordan is a smoker and drinker now? heh
