uh, Lebron isn't fit to hold Jordan's jock strap.

maybe when Lebron wins a few MVP's, Finals MVP's, scoring titles, NBA Championships, etc.....then we can mention his name with MJ's.

No one is saying he's the best, we're saying the potential is there.

meh, people said the same thing about Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill, Vince Carter, T-mac, Kobe, etc.

none of those guys can touch MJ's legacy. every single one has potential.

Lebron hasn't even accomplished as much as Kobe yet.

Well thats an excellent point, everyone has said that in the past...I think lebron is a much better player the kobe...kobe is simply out for kobe, always has been. Lebron is a better player, and a better team player...at least in my opinion.

Right now its true, Lebron is not fit to "hold Jordans.." But, Lebron is probably the only person in the league that can hopefully fill MJ's shoes with some time. You have to remember this is Lebrons second year in the league, look at his numbers, by the way he's what? 19? 20? He's also making the CAVS look like a playoff team, I don't think MJ, Kobe, KG or anyone else could make the CAVS look like a playoff team when they were in the second year let alone when they were/are 19 or 20 years old.

the thing is, there has to be some luck if Lebron is to try to build a legacy that compares to MJ's.

he's got to stay injury free for one thing. look at Grant Hill. his numbers were gaudy and he took very mediocre Piston teams to the playoffs many times. he went to orlando and could have been an awesome duo with t-mac. who knows how far that team could have gone.

i'm totally willing to admit the Lebron's putting up fantastic numbers and is extremely athletic.

but he still hasn't proven anything, relative to MJ's career....but people still annoint him as the next MJ. let the kid win and NBA title before we compare him to the GOAT.

oh i agree with you totally that Lebron is not MJ, but when I watch him play I could swear that Im watching Mike ver. 2.0. When was the last time you watched a basketball game just to see someone play besides mike? I'll just flip the Lebron game on just for the sake of watching, Lebron. Last time this happened was watching Mike back in like '96. There's just something about him that he has that the "potentials" i.e. Kobe, KG, and co don't have.

in all honesty, i reserve all judgement of Lebron until he plays in a playoff game.

that's where basketball superstars set themselves apart.

MJ took the Bulls to the playoffs his first year, with NO help....and they weren't even close to making the playoffs the year before.
MJ was maybe a year or two older than Lebron at that point, since he came out of college early.

If MJ came back to the NBA right now, he'd be one of the top 20 players. At 40+ yrs old.

I was kind of hoping he'd come back and play with Shaq in Miami.

can i see the first 50?

Not really, but just off the top of my head in no apparent order...

Larry Bird, Bill Walton, James Worthy, Lew Alcindor, Bob Cousy, Oscar Robertson, George Gervin, Julius Ervin, Moses Malone, Charles Barkeley, Domonique Wilkins, Hakeem Olajuwan, Clyde Drexler, David Robinson, Shaquille O'Neil, Kevin Garnett, Reggie Miller, Tom Chambers, John Stockton, Karl Malone, Pete Maravich...that's all for now.

Don't forget Pistol Pete!! He's fun to watch as well, I also like watching old J-Dub highlights also, I don't care, he may still have the best handles in the league, too bad he just can't show it off as much.

I dont know how anyone can logically argue Wilt Chamberlain being better than MJ, Magic or Bird...Wilt was a foot taller then the average nba player at the time he played. There were only two other people in the league that even remotely approached his height. That was his biggest advantage. He was no doubt a great player...But MJ, Bird and Magic are better in my opinion.

Using that logic, Spudd Webb must rank up there pretty high.

Wilt would dunk his free throw attempts until they changed the rules. I'm sorry but whenever a whole league changes their rule that demands respect.

Name that player:
He averaged over 50 points a game one year.
Scored 100 points in a game.
Scored 58 points in one game as a rookie.
Averaged over 37 points and 27 rebounds a game as a rookie.
Had 118 games in which he scored at least 50 points.
Had 271 games in which he scored at least 40 points.
Grabbed almost 24,000 rebounds.
Grabbed 41 rebounds in an NBA Finals game.
Led the league in rebounding for 11 years.
Made 35 consecutive field goals.
Was the NBA MVP as a rookie.
Scored 60 points in 10 minutes in high school.
Had sex with 20,000 women.

The only reason I put Magic over him was that I have seen Magic play, but not Wilt. Magic and Wilt are not human.
