MJ had a lot of talent, no doubt. However there have been plenty of other ballers that had more talent in a specific area than he did (three pointers, for example) or are very similiar in style, etc. The difference that seperated Jordan from all the rest was his motivation. His drive. That's what makes him the best.

MJ was the most selfish player of all time. but he has more rings than any other player in the league. Maybe some of you guys are too young to remember his glory days. i followed the bulls' run in 1996 and those guys were amazing due to the sole factor of MJ.

Wilt was in a time of his own. a period where basketball wasn't exactly the most phsyical game as it is today.

Magic had all around skills along with his superior court vision but he is still a step behind jordan.

Jordan was a Triple Double threat every night. Guards whom jordan were assigned to, must bring their 150% "A" game every night, b/c Jordan can also beat you without scoring and assisting.

Lebron has no supporting cast around him. Kobe had Shaq, MJ had Pippen. When you have two major threats on the floor it opens up the other person at some point. Lebron only has himself with really one or two "above average" players and the rest all just very young and inexperienced.

With the numbers he produces plus the number of games they have won it's impressive. Remember this guy isn't even old enough to buy a beer yet. And he's pulling down averages that beat all but one or two people in the league...and winning games with an average at best team.

Cleveland wouldn't win a game without Lebron. The Lakers are almost better off without Kobe.

Lebron is going to be as good as, if not better than Jordan. He's already a better athlete and can shoot better...he just needs to mature a bit more and he will be there.

Pippen was overrated, IMO. I think people assumed he was great because jordan made him look so good. I'd be surprised if lebron has the same impact on the league that jordan did. Jordan basically changed the prototype for a basketball player.

yes he was the best overall, but Shaq2000 would still have beaten his Bulls in the Finals. Same with Bird86 and ShowtimeMagic w/baldspot Kareem

The guy was an awesome swing man. He was one of the best 3 point shooters out there, had awesome assists, great offensive rebounder, one of the all time NBA leaders in steals and one of the best shot blockers ever to play for the Bulls.

Overrated?

Not a chance any of the recent lakers teams could have beaten the bulls from 96-98...not a chance...
