Yeah a lot of Bush supporters can't handle the truth.
If Saddam was a leader of a central African country.....we would not be in central Africa right now.

I don't know what he said, but Bowling for Columbine was a terrible movie. I couldn't even finish watching it. He was incredibly selective in what he showed to make sure that it fit his point of view. He didn't give anywhere close to the whole story. I could make a documentary just like his where I portray Dogs as vicious animals and tell people they are fools for allowing them into their homes. All I have to do is interview people who have been bitten by dogs and find towns where there is an unusually large number of dog related injuries. Then I will tease them for awhile at a shelter and record them barking at me wanting to tear my head off. That's what he did in Bowling for Columbine
What do you mean? The guy got an award for an outstanding documentary when the documentary was terrible. You should pay attention to the lefties. They really get worked up over stuff.Originally posted by: Spamela
it sure doesn't take much for you ultra-right wingers to go ballistic.
does michael moore really have that much power over your emotional state?

Very apt analogy, and dogs would be particularly easy to demonize, too. Don't forget to exploit human suffering for your dog-hating film, by showing some autopsy photos of badly mauled children. Oh, and toss in an interview or two of children with very visible and severe scars on their body. A few tears, crying mothers, an animated cartoon depicting the 'history' of fighting dogs, you're in the 'documentary' business!I could make a documentary just like his where I portray Dogs as vicious animals and tell people they are fools for allowing them into their homes. Nor should his commentary or the subsequent aggrieved posts elicit responses that imply "fear" is what has everyone in an uproar. Is it that you are in fear of being somehow affected by your own interest in posting in a thread which you already think is preposterous? You know, you don't have to step into the water if the temperature is not to your liking.Originally posted by: Spamela
i read responses from all sides. the right-wingers provide a counterpart to the lefty posts (and vice-versa).
IMHO, though, it just doesn't seem reasonable that moore's comments (or his documentaries) should elicit dozens of aggrieved posts, in various threads, unless you're actually afraid of his power to influence opinion.
doc·u·men·ta·ry
adj.
Presenting facts objectively without editorializing or inserting fictional matter, as in a book or film.
1. An eligible documentary film is defined as a theatrically released non-fiction motion picture dealing creatively with cultural, artistic, historical, social, scientific, economic or other subjects. It may be photographed in actual occurrence, or may employ partial re-enactment, stock footage, stills, animation, stop-motion or other techniques, as long as the emphasis is on fact and not on fiction.

This is the crap I'm so tired of. Anyone who disagrees with the war/foreign policy or even dislikes the President is labelled communist, anti-American? It's this unthinking, mass-patriotism that makes dissent and disagreement less available, which, in turn, makes us LESS AMERICAN.
Where in that cartoon does it say "communist, anti-American"?
I'll answer , it doesn't. Why should our right to disagree with Moore be stifled by lies such as what you just said?

To be honest, I had never heard of this fat jackass until now. When they said Michael Moore, I thought they were talking about the boxer. No wonder he needed to use the Oscars to get publicity. That's ok though, he commited his own career suicide.

Not quite as subtle as "same year as the KKK" but nice to see your blinders off for a second.

MM can say whatever he wants...but to do it in such a venue which will be seen immediately by our soldiers in the Gulf is just unforgivable.
