Kimi came right from 13 to 2!! Isn't that just the best!
Also...Shoemaker sucks! He can only win with a good car these days

Which race was it where Schumi came from near the back to finish second right behind Alonso (a hell of a lot closer than Kimi was)?
Or does the fact that Schumi did the same as Kimi in a different race, but finished closer not count?

No, he's still one of the best. He's just driving an uncompetitive car. I don't think that it's necessarily Ferrari's fault either. I'd put it down to the tires more than anything. Schumacher is vastly out performing his teammate. If he and Rubens were closer in results I might be more inclined to agree with you.

Raikkonen is something special though. I hope he can catch and pass Alonso for the championship this year.

Edit-If Kimi didn't have that engine change on Friday he would have won that race.

No, it doesn't count. The only reason he caught up to Alonso in that race was because of the safety car. He was a good 30 seconds behind Alonso when the safety car was deployed and never would have caught him otherwise.

Hate all you want but MS hold almost all the record in F1 and thats the fact. And if you watch MS before he break his leg he was 10x the drive kimi and FS can ever dream of. After he break his leg he is more about tactic than go all out, and this land him 5 WDC.

We are lucky enough to witness one of the best F1 racer ever, we should all enjoy while he is still racing.

Personally, I like to watch him flounder around in the middle of the pack. Last season sucked when he wrapped up the championship in the middle of the season. I much prefer that it goes down to the wire.

I don't think he's 10x the driver Kimi is either.

San Marino? Where Schumi set the fastest lap?

My bad, I was thinking of Montreal...and actually, Kimi won that race.

Totally agree that 2004 suck when he wrapped up so early, BUT it is not his fail other teams car don't have the pace. And it is not his fail RB can't keep up w/ him with the same F2004 either.

We all could see that schumi won only when ferrari gave him the number 1 car...but we have always seen that when mclaren put out their cars...in the last 7-8 years, they were never the best car...yet mika n kimi have kicked some real ass....

last year's mclaren was a disaster....
Renault...i really dont know what to say..they pulled out an awsome car this year...but alonso is an excellent driver too...

And don't even start talking about Kimi's unluckyness in this sport...he has had every possible nightmarish luck!

Um... LOL. It's a lot easier to gain position when you're at the back of the pack when you're a much better driver. However, it's a lot harder once you get up front, such as for a battle between first or second.

What you sound like is an idiot. With the 4 "sentences" you gave which all ended (one didn't even include punctuation) in exclamation marks, only one was fact. Everything else was your stupid opinion. Kimi went from 13th to 2nd. Then, you resort to petty insults like calling Michael Schumacher "shoemaker."

I'll add some insiteful opinion to this little thread. Schumacher isn't having his best season. Bridgestone isn't shelling out the best tire either and coupled with the fact that Michael IS getting older doesn't help at all either. It's laughable when you say Ferrari gives him the best car because most would say they don't. Ferrari's are often underpowered on the field and yet you don't see Michael getting passed left and right. It takes a great driver to do that, and no ordinary "Shoemaker" would be able to pull that off.

That being said, please shut up.

This is awesome...

Everyone always crticizes the big star of the day, in whatever sport, only to come out of the closet after they retire, or near the end of their careers, shouting that they have devoutly followed and cherished so and so athelete's career, and isn't it such a shame that they have to retire so soon in life...

blah blah blah... I think it's great when an individual or team can dominate their particular sport... look at Barry bonds, I'm not a fan of his demeanor (what we the fans see anyways), but i can certainly appreciate his accomplishments... How about Gretzky? Everyone here in Canada vilified him when he was traded to LA, and crucified him for marrying an American girl... Now look at how much Canada sucks at the Altar of Gretzky's Balls...

Given, Schumacher isn't having near the best season of his career, however, I haven't heard him make any excuses either...

I would say that to some extent it is the team, the driver and the car. Not just the driver. Certainly true the two years Ferrari completely dominated with both Ferrari drivers capturing 1-2 in the drivers championship.

I'm not a big fan of Michael Schumacher but I will admitt that he is one of the best F1 drivers ever. I think Kimi Raikkonen is the same caliber of driver though as is Alonso. I would rate them in that order and given the same car I think any one of them could beat the other.

BTW-I've been closely following F1 since 1996. I watched Hill win the championship in '96, Villenueve in '97, Mika Hakkinen in '98 & '99 and Schumacher the past 5 years.

Got to love F1 noobs- somehow they forget about all the races won by Michael between 92 and 2000 where he generally drove the 2nd, sometimes 3rd best car on the grid.

Watching him decimate the competition in 01, 02, and 04 were lessons on how to win in a dominant car- lessons JV in 97' and Mika in 98' and 99' could have learned from with their dominating cars. BTW- claiming Mclaren didn't easily have the best car in 98' and 99' and basically an equal car in 00' is plain ignorant.

Regardless, Mclaren has had a good car since the 19/B came out mid-season last year and after the teething pains the first couple races, have the best package this season- it's no accident that nearly all "experts" on the sport call the Mclaren the class of the field this year after the first 1/3 of the season where Renault was on their game.

Kimi's drive at Mangy Cours was impressive, but in probably the fastest car on the grid with a driver of his caliber- it was expected (simliar to Michael in Imola- where there was no safety car BTW). Note Montoya had 3rd wrapped up until his car broke. IMO Michael had a very good race as well- his fastest lap was only 7th fastest, but he fought to keep the car on the podium even as his Bridgestones went away in the latter parts of the race. Unfotunately without cooler temps, the Bridgestones likely won't be the match of Michelin the rest of the European season excluding Silverstone.
