If there's one place in the US Michael Vick belongs, it's Green Bay

Oh, thank god. At first, because of some comments TO made, there was some speculation about Vick going to the Bills, as if there was some secret that no one knew. Anyone else noticed that there seems to be more real drama in the NFL these days than the artificial drama generated in professional wrestling?

I think it's funny that he cannot own a dog ... for two years.

GB needs a defense to plug the freaking holes that you could drive a truck through. They had a great offense. Picking up Vick really makes no sense to me unless they really think they can put more butts in seats with him on the roster. Given the demographics of the area though, I'd think he'd be a negative impact on fan base.

You need to be put on a 30 year waiting list to get Packers tickets, I'm sure this will have no influence on fan support..

Packers backup QBs currently on the roster:
Matt Flynn
Brian Brohm

And I heard one of the NFL talking heads yesterday saying something about the Packers being unhappy with Brohm. It probably doesn't hurt that any contract Vick will sign in the NFL will be for the league minimum.

I'd honestly be surprised to see Vick on any team in the NFL this year. Too much baggage. If he does end up on a team, I'd be even more surprised if he sees the field as anything other than a 'Wildcat QB'.

GB just doesn't strike me as a team that really seeks drama or takes big risks. The whole Favre thing is still a bitter topic to a lot of people. It just seems out of character. Maybe that's the point and they are trying to get different attention to put that one behind them.

Old news. I doubt that Vick is going to GB anyway, since this was first broken a few days ago and nothing else has come of it. I honestly don't see anyone picking up Vick as a roster player at QB. Maybe somewhere else on the field, or possibly the practice squad.

Which every D in the league will have schemed for.

Weak, the guy has already made more than most of us will ever see. I have no sympathy that had to spend so much on his legal defense for being a reprehensible douche, either. .

Every D in the league schemes for the off tackle dive too out of multiple different formations. Doesn't necessarily mean they can stop it every time.

I'm just pointing out that after sitting out of the NFL for two years, it is laughable to expect him to come in during the summer training camp and compete for playing time on any team as a QB. He's going to need at least a year before he's ready to do that. The only way he'd see action on the field during games would be in some sort of specialty role like the Wildcat QB.

The only way you'll see Vick getting real starts at QB in 2009 would be in the fledgling UFL.

Aaron put up some numbers, that boy can throw. But you didn't didn't see anyone else behind center put up any TD's. They've got Grant back now, but I don't remember him being a TD monstor, just a yardage hog. I'd say vick would be a serious touchdown threat which is something GreenBay could use in the absence of favre.

Vick has not worked out for anyone though, and until he dose, rest assured we've no clue where he's going. Chance's are he pulls a TO and gets picky about where he's going if enough option's are presented.

I'm rooting for San Fransisco to pick him up, but the York family, apparently hates the guy.

The only team Vick fits in with now is the Raiders. I'd be pissed if the Packers picked him up.

True, but in a game of inches, with how few possessions most teams average per game, if it isn't high percentage, good luck with that.

My POV, if it was the dog fighting alone, I'd be more receptive. But I feel like Hotlanta was better without him, and that it is something every team should be asking themselves. Again, just my opinion, but I would be looking for a young, hard working, player, not a guaranteed walking tabloid story.

And I think that is the problem with Vick right there from many team's perspectives. While he was supremely gifted athletically, he wasn't known for his work ethic. In fact, he was derided for it.

Some players are headaches but work hard enough that teams are willing to put up with the headaches. For Vick, headache + poor work ethic = no bites at the NFL level.

I can't believe that Crabtree is talking about re-entering the draft next year. There's no way he'll get drafted higher, especially after showing his willingness to hold out.
