Racists find racism everywhere, it's true.

Exactly. Racists like Michelle are prone to see racism everywhere because they themselves are racists and view everything through that lens. Only a racist idiot would conclude that someone asking her to get something off a high shelf is evidence of racism.

The sad part is, instead of unifying the country, idiots like obummer and his wife have done a great job further dividing the country by making everything about race. How can we ever get beyond racism when our "leaders" make everything about race?

She really thinks that was an example of racism? There has to be more to this story, no?

The nation divided means votes are likely to be cast a certain way. Hispanics outnumber blacks but when combined into a voting block they are an important segment of society to keep stirred up. Sometimes there are riots with looting and burning but...votes.

If racism and poverty were wiped away tomorrow why would there be any need for the Democrat party? The fires need to be stoked. Al Sharpton is a race baiting hustler that owes the government millions. He's an advisor to Obama. He's serving a purpose and an important one to Democrats.

I really don't understand. I get asked to help people in stores all the time. Either for my height or my strength. Once in a great while I even get asked if I work at the store, which I have started to realize is usually just a means to ask for help without seeming rude.

I would think racism would've been if the person needing help sought out a white person to ask, while walking past Michelle. I have a feeling if it had gone done like that Michelle would've complained about that too.

BTW: What is that saying to all the hard working Americans that work retail? That the job is slow low, that it is a racist insult if someone assumes you work it? WTF?

The other side to the story is than when she was on Letterman's show she framed the Target situation with laughter and the enjoyment of helping another person. But when it suits the agenda, she's a victim of racism.

Start at 4:44 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhYJJu1tLu4 She finishes up by saying she felt so good.

I'm 6' 3", I can't go into a Sams's or Costco without being asked for help to reach items on high shelves. It's part of life and I graciously help them. WTF is wrong with that? Seriously, this wasn't racism, the dumbass first lady is just fucked in the head.

er, was she wearing a red shirt?

even as a middle class white male, I've been mistaken for a Target store employee before when making the mistake of going shopping there wearing a red polo shirt.
I've often been mistaken for an employee, including in Target (by people evidently too dense to realize that literally every employee is wearing the same bright red shirt and I'm in a brown tee with "Alien Abductee" on the front) and it practically seems like my wife's hobby. And that isn't just people wanting help, it's people specifically believing (for no apparent reason) that we work there. It happens.

But, the president said, “the small irritations or indignities that we experience are nothing compared to what a previous generation experienced.”

i think the president summed it up perfectly for both of their experiences but please continue to take out of context and pick up on the ABW.

The Obama's experiences of "racism" appear to be gross magnifications rooted in lifelong indoctrination and illustrates a rather twisted perspective of racism through the eyes of their affluence. In my opinion, their exaggerated perspective grossly marginalizes the plight of those who are much less privileged and frequently experience various shades of racism on a daily basis and throughout their lives.

Go get bent, there's nothing undignified about being asked to help someone. Here's the goddamned context, they want to see racism in everything, so they'll always find it. To hell with them, ain't nobody got time for that.

This sort of expression of racism is something I have never seen or heard about.

"Do this for me because you are black and blacks are servants/slaves/whatever." Seems like some sort of archaic racism.

Maybe in the 1850s and before. . .

But now the racism is more like "F u black person!" and "I aint doin this for no black person!" or "Run away, black person on the street!"

She is imagining things.

Black people and their racial sensitivity is hard to deal with. Every time I walk through a black neighborhood to on my way to the rodeo to perform rope tricks in my wizard costume, I face a ton of aggressive acts.

ive had older people ask me for help with heavy stuff on shelves at retail stores before when no reps are around. I didn't mind helping. Although since I'm not black I assume I can't claim that it was due to racism.

This entitlement society can engender really odd first-world complaints. I have been mistakenly identified; as an employee at many stores; even a bank; I took it as a compliment.

The First Lady thinks way too highly of herself; really.

I don't think it's really that, given her description of the encounter on Letterman. It's more that she's led a life of privilege and when she needed a personal example of racism, this is the best she could do.

The thing I find hilarious is that when black people who have faced centuries of racial prejudice possibly overreact a bit, white folk who have never suffered at all from racism fall apart at the seams. You can almost hear them scream, how dare those racially inferior people try to reverse racism on me. I never owned no plantation, bro. I have lily white hands.

Woman is the size of a Wookie, short person would have asked her if she was white, too.
If "she" is indeed a woman at all.
Racism found..in Michelle Obama's mind.

One thing is certain. Your comment about 'if she's indeed a woman' would require that the speaker not be much of a man.
