Yea, he is also doing the same thing in my state: Just tweeted "LIBERATE MINNESOTA".
Even more absurd since Minnesota and several other midwestern states just formed an alliance to study how to open their economies in a reasonable and scientific manner.
So basically Trump was rebuffed at his "I have absolute power" claim by both liberals and conservatives, so now he is inciting his base to try to force opening the economy, all while claiming to be allowing the governors to manage the transition.

Yea, that's it, manbabies.

On Wednesday, a crowd of right-wing nuts — complete with their oversized but underworked utility vehicles, Confederate flags, guns and other such overcompensation accoutrements — descended on the State Capitol in Lansing, Michigan, to whine about the temporary pause to dinners at Applebee's and accidental brushfires at gender-reveal parties. The deep fear of emasculation driving the protest was not particularly subtle at this protest, as the crowd chanted "Lock her up" at Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, a Democrat who is accused of no other crime other than making deeply insecure men fuss about a woman in power.

Michigan, for example, made it illegal to visit another residence, and is dictating what stores can or cannot sell.
People there got a reason.
I dont necessarily agree with *all* the provisions of the Michigan governor, but certainly the majority of them are justified. And Trump is now inciting, with his tweets, the same sort of protests in other states as well, as noted in other posts in this thread.

I live in Minnesota, and we are now having protests, and our governor has done an excellent job in managing the crisis. As I said above, Trump was stymied by both liberals and conservatives in his desire to personally direct the opening of the economy. So now he is going to incite his base to do the dirty work for him, while paying lip service to the governors right to manage thier own states.

Edit: I dont really understand the provision for not visiting another residence, but that is a pretty standard provision of stay at home orders. The one thing where I disagree with the Michigan governor is the prohibition of selling gardening supplies and equipment in stores that are otherwise open. Still does not justify the President to basically incite riots, or the residents to block access to a hospital and abandon social distancing.

Isn't it snowing in the St Paul area today? Should make for some fun protesting conditions.

Much the same situation here. Though the police, so far, haven't been very pro-active in enforcing the rules. I think there are potential problems ahead, given the scope for very selective rule-enforcement. I'm not allowed to visit any of my family, but then again, i don't want to, as I wouldn't want to be responsible for spreading something to my elderly relatives. Also the fact they aren't allowed to visit me means I don't have to worry so much about keeping up my housework standards.

It was all very obvious how coming out of this was going to play out. Instead of taking responsibility for having people stay home as long as necessary, trump has offloaded that responsibility to the governors. This of course allows him to attack the governors and win political biscuits from his followers by calling for 'liberation,' even though he's been told it's the right thing to do. These aren't geniuses we're dealing with here.

Normal leadership says "time to bring everybody together in this tragic pandemic" Trump "its time to divide and sew chaos".
You have to reframe it in reality show terms, bringing people together wouldn't bring you ratings in a slump.

Cuomo tore Trump a new asshole on having to Thank him in his daily brief this morning. It went on for probably 20 minutes. It was beautiful. I'll see if a link is available. Fact checking his words through the whole thing.

Naw, we have had a very mild spring (relatively speaking) in the Twin Cities. We officially had 6 inches of snow last week, but it only accumulated on grassy surfaces and melted very quickly. It is sunny and in the 50s today, with no snow left on the ground.

Exactly thats all I'm asking people to do is take care of themselves and handle the real world like grown ups and not need daddy to bail them out.
you can wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which fills up faster.

No they don’t. The goal is to end this shit as soon as possible, the measures the gov took were in line with that goal. Fucking dipshits like the protestors and the governors of several red states are going to be the cause of this lasting longer and being more expensive in both terms of dollars and lives than it has to be.

Their actions are the result of 40 years of attacking education and science in this country.

See, that's the rub. Humans have a hard time thinking for themselves. It seems we prefer to align with groups based on certain criteria, whether we know it or not. It seems that's how fear and hate take such a prevalent role in societies, including ours.

In fact, speaking like you is often frowned upon and many humans are taught to attack people who would be intellectual types.

Just my opinion.

Many folks don't like to be "talked down to", nor proven wrong, nor proven how stupid and ignorant they are. Problem being, to like Trump and support him requires a lot of folks to be stubbornly stupendously stupid and because stupid people aren't able to realize they're stupid, they must, as Trump does, think of themselves as stable geniuses when it comes time to picking their presidents.

If proven wrong time after time as Trump has had the privilege of experiencing on numerous occasions, many of his supporters like himself will ignore that fact and carry on as if their being fact checked wrong over and over again have nothing to do with their being stubbornly stupid because in their addled minds they're geniuses who can never be wrong, thus completing the unbreakable "Circle of Stupidity" they go round and round and round in.

It's an amazing thing to observe as there's a complete lack of lessons learned every time they circle back to where they just came from.

Does anyone truly 'think for themselves'? Aren't we all defined by the groups we are members of? "No man is an island" and all that. We are products of our cultures and sub-cultures, that's what we are built out of.

I think the closest we can achieve is introspection on a regular basis, about anything. Self awarenesses, analyzing why we did something, reacted in a certain way, said something, etc..and changing what we don't like

I dont think all humans are capable of this.

I think we're all capable to some degree or another. Some people just don't see any value in it.

Ohio protesters as well. Some say it looks like the zombie apocalypse .

"A photo shot by Joshua A. Bickel of The Columbus Dispatch captured a view of angry protesters through the glass doors of the statehouse as they called on DeWine to reopen the state, according to the newspaper. "

View attachment 19690

These people are not "angry".
These people (aka selfish cunts to stupid to realize what's going on) are simply the witless tools of people who make a lot of money influencing public opinion for political strategist. They are simply mimicking what they have observed in prior examples of organized "I an angry".

I think its cute how millions of dick brains honestly believe they're so much smarter than doctors and scientists.
It used to be called the Dunning-Kruger Effect but after 2020 it should be called the Donald Trump Effect.
