Nice! Almost exactly what I was looking for. I was thinking of building a Core2Duo system, but I would have to get a new expensive mobo, DDR2, and CPU - this way I get to reuse my old DDR, and plug in the $130 XFX 7900GS from the Buy.com deal a while back... Even though the $10 Sempron from TigerDirect is no more, you can still get it for $20, which makes this a killer combo.

Don't ever get the idea of sticking an 8800GTX in this in SLI. The SLI is 8x/8x, not 16x/16x. That's about the only warning flag for this. Put an Opterion 170 in here and it'd be a nice super-cheap setup.

It should. The only card that I've heard won't play nice with 8x/8x SLI is the 8800GTX. The 8800GTS and everything lower should be fine in SLI.

Anyone know how the performance of the MX4000 is compared to say a 9700pro or Ti4600? I have an older system that I use for my DOS games and such but the video card has pretty much crapped out. Ive been looking for a good deal on another decent AGP card, but just aint found anything yet. With this deal though I may just grab the MX4000 use it and use the nifty mobo for something else. I got an FX-55 system I could toss in there...though I dont think Ill ever be able to run SLI (7900GTO) so it may be kinda pointless to swap my system around. I dunno...

Edit: I actually wonder how that 6200 compares to all this as well, its a newer gen card, would it be as good or around the same 9700/Ti4600 level? I built a machine for someone else a long time ago and its got a 9700 in it...they dont know squat about computers and dont really utilize the 9700 much, so I may be a sneaky bastard and swap the new AGP card for their 9700Pro.

Thanks OP. I've been wanting to check out that board. Tried buying one from Newegg with a 3400+ CPU in a combo deal with coupon, but somehow the board must have been OOS for the one second that I placed the order because it was removed from my order (ended up getting the CPU alone for $9.99 shipped though ). I was then going to buy it when it was going for $55, with free shipping using Paypal, but it really became OOS, and has been since then at Newegg.

$100 sucks for this board, but $100 is actually a decent deal for the 7600GTS (no rebates) and of course $100 for both (well, around $106 shipped for me) is a terrific deal. Got them in my shopping card now, and will check out after posting this.

if anyone is wondering what a 7600gts is, it's a 7600gs gpu clocked to 7600gt speed, and it has gddr3 (7600gs has ddr2). Windows will recognize it as the 7600gs, but performance is the same, or nearly the same as a 7600gt (read about it here).

I was going to get this motherboard when it was ~$60 on newegg after rebate, but got a cheaper Foxconn motherboard. I'm getting this with the 7600gts, then selling the 7600gts on ebay. Free hardware is always good.

I figured the same thing. I bought 2 sets an hour ago. One for me, one for my nephew.
I was looking for reviews on this card because it didn't show up on EVGA's website (part # 256-P2-N612-TX), but with the DDR3 memory and core clock it seems to be more of a GT than a GS. I did find this small blurb here on NForceshq.com that says just that. Just got my email confirmation as I was typing this. Ship date is 1-4-07.
