Lordie, they are the opposite of Newegg. Just called them. He said he was not too familiar with motherboards. That's great. I tried to explain the concept of a
substitution. Took SEVERAL explanations on my part to get my idea across of having them send me another board instead. He kept thinking I wanted to buy another board,
and pay full price. Geeezzzz. They won't do a substitution.
They have already put the video card in for shipment for me. They had better get another Evga board in, because a canceled board and a 100.00 video card is not what I want.

I ordered about 10 minutes after my brother did for in-store pickup last night. He got a cacellation notice email this morning and I got an email stating mine is ready for pick-up. They're 20 minutes away so I'm definately going to call them before driving all the way down there. I'm also going to let my brother have it because he ordered first and needs it more than I do.

Talked to "Grant" at MC by phone... his manager says its a replenishable motherboard and a new special so they are confident to be getting more in. Im not so confident, but whatever. I told him I dont want to have to drive two hours (1hr each way)to a store to return the video cards or pay shipping to ship the cards back if the motherboards dont show up. I told him I dont even need the video cards unless I get the motherboards. He is hopefull that in such a situation MC would be willing to pay the shipping... right ...

Well, I talked to a CSR on the phone and she said that the board will come in stock in 1-3 days. Not quite sure if thats true or not, but I'll be giving the B&M store to see if I can pick it up there or get a substitution.

No go on the changing my order to pick up in store, they told me to cancel my order and re-order and change it to in-store pick up. I can't even add the motherboard into my cart anymore

Guess I gotta wait for the motherboards to come back into stock, hopefully its the 1-3 days that the CSR told me on the phone.

Well, not including the motherboard in the price, just video card alone it would probably be better overall to get a single, faster card at that price such as the 7950GT 256MB.

I was going to get this motherboard when it was ~$60 on newegg after rebate, but got a cheaper Foxconn motherboard. I'm getting this with the 7600gts, then selling the 7600gts on ebay. Free hardware is always good.

I'll wait but I'm not happy about it. Crappy way to do business. This is my first purchase at this retailer.

They aren't taking any more orders for the mobo.

If we don't get our motherboard, wouldn't it be bait & switch? They're baiting us with 1 cent motherboards to order video cards, then say "whoops, you don't get the board... but we already charged you for the card and shipped it."

Sure, we can return it, but then we're out shipping costs.

What I found interesting is this combo deal is listed in their in-store flyer, but the motherboard is listed as free. And the flyer has valid price dates of 1-1-07 through 1-14-97, two weeks, which is typical for MicroCenter's in-store flyers. They usually run their ads for two to four weeks.....guess it cuts down on printing.

They do, in very fine print, state quantities may run out, may be limited by manufacturer and beyond their control, yada, yada.

But I'd think the best bet would be to go to the store. Hard to deny the full color, 50 page hard copy ad that's in their own store.

They said the motherboards would not be shipping for at least 2 weeks and could not give a definite date for when they would have them in stock. Canceled my order now I have to refuse shipment of video card if I am even here when they deliver. They will not refund video card price until they receive it back.

I think Microcenter has messed up more Orders than any other online company. Last year they had a price error on x1900 aiw cards (~$150 when the card retailed for ~$400), so they canceled the orders, but they did offer those people the x800aiw at a descent price. Then they sold too many Asus A8N-SLI Deluxes the next month ($40), but they did eventually come through and deliver it a month later. Now they sell too many of these boards. History does show that they come through, but you just gotta be patient.

call Fedex/UPS and give them your tracking number and tell them to send it back to the sender because you will not accept it.

I'm going to accept mine and sell the 7600gts on ebay since I don't need it (already have a bunch of un-used pci-e cards, don't need another). Then when I get the motherboard it's a free gift to my htpc system, yay.
