micro center has buy any evga video card get evga nf4 sli mobo fo free!!

I stopped by the Cincinnati Micro center today after work to check for a couple of small items, and thought I might as well see if they had any of these mobos in stock.

Lo and behold there was one there. I grabbed it, and a 7900 GS for 209.99 with a $40 rebate to bring it down to 169.99. I plan on selling the mobo, so it ought to end up being a good price for the video card, plus I'll register for evga's step up program.

I spoke with Micro Center today. They said the boards are coming in next week. He said they were losing money in order to take care of those that ordered. Poor babies..
They already charged me for the order, less one cent, and I got the video card already. I'll probably sell the board myself. I really wanted the video card.

wow, i hate MC. i got them to cancel my order(even though i got a cancellation email i was still charged) last week. i was on my bank account site today and low and behold they charged me again for the same items.

on hold with them now. pretty sure i'm not ordering from them for a while, if at all.

Since the MC is only 15 mins away from me, i never have had that problem with shipping.
Thats a shame since they are a great store for a quick part.

Spoke with Micro Center just minutes ago, The Evga SLI boards have come in. They should be shipping soon. He said they were taking a loss on the boards to fulfill the orders.
That's too bad, aint it? That's their obligation to their customers, if you ask me. Don't offer the deal if you aint got the stock...

um, yeah- the promotion was for 2 weeks anyway and if they are taking a loss now I am sure they were before... How CAN one NOT take a loss on selling a motherboard for 1penny? Its not like that last batch they got from eVGA was free or anything :roll: - heres hoping they ship ours...

Just spoke with micro center again. The reps don't have access to the warehouse inventory, so she does not know if the motherboards have arrived to them or not. They told me Monday they had come in. Can you believe their 1960s computer system? No online status for us, and even the reps don't know what the warehouse has. I'm not holding my breath on this one, but I will be parking my a$$ in the store manager's office until I at least get a substitute motherboard.

Surprise, surprise, I don't know what happened to their supposed Evga shipment just 4 days ago that was on the dock ( so they said) . Yeah, right.
I'm told today that the Evga motherboard shipment will be delivered to them near the end of the week next week.
OK....My Mr Nice Guy attitude stops at the end of next week........

Anbody get told differently?

Pretty much the same stories they have been telling me as well. I called yesterday and at first the guy said they would not be filling the orders because its a non-replenishable item :| At that point I started telling him what I thought of their customer service and all of sudden he said "wait a minute I see a note here, and it says we are going to fill the back orders in the next 14 days. "

It's becoming apparent they are just telling people what they want to hear so as to get them off the phone and hope the 30 days passes without a flood of returned video cards.

If we all stick together, we will get justice. All we have to do is mention that over 5000 views have been made here in this thread, and many people are watching what Micro Center does. It's borderline illegal to rope people in with an offer and not deliver it.

Heck, I have the time, the Micro Center store is near me, and I can print up a nice sign to carry as I walk back and forth near their store protesting
...sounds like fun....but I'll have to make sure Homeland Security says it's OK to do.....

yup, but now it difficult to give away a 19" crt.

OTOH EVGA ran a similar deal themselves and other etailers where the NF4 SLI mobo came free with a 7800 GT
