Thanks Zap, I did see the AT review but they didnt have a q9300 in the test
What would it compare to in the review? q6600 + 15%?
q9300 would be $100 while a new rig would mean mobo, proc, ram and psu.
Just seeing if the price is worth the upgrade. (I only play FPS games)
2 hours of driving highway speeds, let's say it's 120 miles, or 240 miles round trip, assuming generous 30mpg efficiency you are still spending 8 gallons or about $24 worth of gas money. Add tax, 4 hours of driving, and sometimes, it's just not worth it...
So the K versions are unlocked, but non K versions wont oc at all?
MC is just 5 miles away from me but knowing the how many tech heads there are in Boaston it'd probably be a 2 hour wait just to get into the store Sunday Morning to get one of these.2 hours of driving highway speeds, let's say it's 120 miles, or 240 miles round trip, assuming generous 30mpg efficiency you are still spending 8 gallons or about $24 worth of gas money. So tempting. But I told someone I was going to hold onto my 775 quad-cores for another 2-3 years.
Hmmm, does this someone have long hair and sit down to pee? If so, I am having the exact same problem trying to upgrade my Q9300.
You have a grandfather with long hair?
Just need a Microcenter in Tennessee...
I hope there not backing out of the deal. Planning on taking a 45 min drive to my nearest MC.Breaking embargo?

I would be really mad if they back out of the deal. I dunno about you guys, but the MC in Mayfield, Ohio simply doesn't answer their phones. So I guess I'll be finding out the hard way.
Ahh, so they're giving us a "deal" by ramping it up first, then taking it back down. Oh well, at least they're being nice to the early adopters.
Anyway I finally got through to someone on the phones, he confirmed that the website should be updated tomarrow morning to allow in-store pickup, and that the price should be as advertised, even though that web page changed. Good news!
