i was kinda surprised it was still good at about 1am Central Sunday Morning

I still ok in our games while also buying from newegg and superbiiz

Thanks to you taking a time out, I got the Ace pin that round! I had 23K points that round, 10K of them for getting my 200th knife kill.

Back on topic, I may be closer to an upgrade that I previously thought. I'm one killer deal away from a Sandy Bridge upgrade. Looking for something acceptible under $350 (2500K & MB).

Haha...Tried to order a combo off of Microcenter for one of their GA stores. Except that neither of the GA stores were listed for in-store pick up despite the fact that it shows both the mobo and CPU as being in-stock.

I contacted their tech support and the reason is because both of the GA stores are closed because of the bad weather today. 0_o

What, I can't order something today and pick it up when the stores open back up? Strange policy.

Maybe it's because of MC's ready in 18 minute policy?

I'm an idiot, didn't realize there was a MC in philly (half hour from work). Been checking the Patterson location for deals (mobo's out of stock). Now BOTH are our of stock on the 2500 but philly has every motherboard. I wonder if they were out of stock on the 2500 all day...

Bought one this past Sunday evening here in the twin cities. Salesman said they had plenty. Since then I've been reading about the problems with the current chipsets to be resolved by X67.

Serously, I don't want to choose between my 4850 512MB/DDR3 and 3000HD before I buy a motherboard. I don't want to get a new video card and I would like to use the full feature set of the on-chip video.
And, yes, I bought the K version since I've been overclocking for maybe a decade.
As someone else posted, by the time x67 becomes available Bulldozer may be a better option.

Just got back from the MC in Cambridge, MA. No 2600k. 7 2500k and a bunch of 2600s.

Hmm says out of stock there for the 25's...

Anyone around paterson wanna be a GREAT person and let me know if they have any in stock? They wont answer their calls... I'm an hour and a half away...

You may want to check again. The MC in Westmont (IL) was out of most of the motherboards and only had a couple of processors left, but just about everything was back in stock this morning. Just picked up a 2500K/MB combo.

Looks like the Micro Center in So. California has been restocked as well.

I'm holding off, waiting for Bulldozer then I'll decide between the 2

There is hope for those that ordered online for shipment...reports are trickling in at SlickDeals that MC is shipping processors, more specifically 2600k's right now. I think I saw one for 2500k but don't remember...I'm old!

Lunch trip to paterson netted me the last 2600k in the store right now.

They had a ton of 2600 non ks and I did not see any 2500k processors at all.

Looks like both the 2500K @ $180 and 2600K @ $280 are in stock at the Denver Micro center. Unsure if the Motherboard combos are still available.

Is this still available?
Probably. Micro Center uses them as a loss-leader to build a good rapport with tech savvy buyers and to get people to make an actual store visit. That's why you can only ever order for in-store pickup instead of shipping.

They should choose better locations for people FS: near the MANHATTAN and their sales will SKYROCKET...

what is the popular board getting selected at MC? Looking for a board with SLI capabilities and an ability to overclock (obviously a P67) modestly (probably see how far i can go at stock voltage and just raise the voltage enough to hit 4-4.4 Ghz depending on how much i need to push. I reallllly dont want to overvolt it too much because i've seen how people 1-2 years later find that they can't maintain settings without constantly ramping up the voltage...i prefer not to deal with that)

edit:

i gotta say the MB prices @ MC aren't that great....newegg is essentially the same with the i2500k link provided above...

I chose the Asus P8P67 Deluxe, but any of the P8P67 series should overclock just as well. Running my 2600K at 4.8 GHz on 1.376V, which IMO should be fine as a long-term overclock. I saw massive diminishing returns beyond that. 4.9 GHz for me required >1.4V.

What steered me toward the Asus boards was the UEFI implementation and the ability to fully control at least some of fan headers. MSI's UEFI firmware looks a little clunkier, and Gigabyte's still using a BIOS.

Per online chat, my 2500k order was just sent to warehouse. Just waiting on final confirmation so I can buy a board (yes, I missed the damn bundle deals, ).

$185.98 shipped!

Edit: Received shipping notification.

Now to get a decent, cheap board. H67 would be fine as I don't overclock. Must have 4 DIMM slots and would like decent fan control (I like quiet systems). Maybe I'll look at some of the Asrock models which are reasonably priced....hmmmm
