MicroATX MoBo power question

Folks,
I've got an old refugee eMachines case that is still in good shape and believe it or not, runs pretty decent. I would like to upgrade with a different MoB and get rid of the weird Delhi III MoBo that I currently have. My question is this - is the 145W power supply that came stock in that case powerful enough to handle the requirements of more modern MicroATX MoBos? I don't intend to put a bunch of peripherals on this - can't anyway! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks folks!

While I have your attention maybe I can get some recommendations on good reliable MicroATX MoBos - both socket 370 and SS7! Thanks!

MicroATX cases routinely have 145w PSUs and the boards energy requirements are tailored to these parameters. I'm running an 800mhz slotA Tbird on an MSI M-ATX board with GeForce2 MX, Adaptec 2940U2W, 18gig IBM lvd drive, 40x Plex & 8x2x32 CDRW (both SCSI) in an Enlight MicroATX case w/1 extra fan. I use external Zip & such to minimize Power usage. It runs all day, every day without incident. You should be fine too.

The Transcend TS-USL3 is a great socket370 mATX board. Similar to the matx version of the ASUS CSUL2-M. But sells for much less. The TS-USL3/N includes oboard LAN.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll look into that. I must admit though that I don't know very much about brands such as Transcend and some of the other smaller companies. Maybe I'm missing out on some good deals. I'll look into it though, okay? Thanks.

Your PSU should be fine for either a S370 or A SoA board.

I've used the MSI6340M which has sound and graphics on-board without problems for a Duron 800 system.

Also have a look at Gigabyte 60MM7 for a S370 board. Tis one is based on Itel's 815 chipset and also has sound and graphics built-in.

Both boards have separate AGP slots too so you can always upgrade later.
