One of the more interesting items is an Intel i5-3570k cpu for $149.99, and also includes $20 off a compatible motherboard.

Also is an AMD FX-4130 socket AM3+, Zambezi, for $69.99 and includes a $40/off any compatible mb bundle. (There are 3 "free" motherboards that can be bundled, but most require a $10 MIR.)

Nice! This CPU is awesome, I managed to pick up one last time they were at $149.99 about a month ago. Got it up and running @ 4.2GHz with temps only in the low 50s while CPU mining! Using a 10 buck (after MIR) Zalman optima (cooler master 212 equivalent). At $149.99 this thing is a steal imo!

I don't see how that store could possibly refuse to honor a price that's in their flyer/catalog that's sitting just outside/inside their front door.....

I would think they would have to honor the ad unless Microcenter franchises some of their stores and even then I believe they have to put the disclaimer "valid at participating locations" in the ad.

The price is very tempting.. I'm still running a Q6600 @ 3.0ghz w/ HD5870 and a SSD. I can still play BF4 (campaign mode). Should I upgrade?

Thx for posting the link, forgot about doing that. DUH! The cpu is listed on page 5, and no where can I find any disclaimer about "participating stores only." The only disclaimers I have found are 1 per household and limited to in-stock supplies....of which I see almost all stores with 10+ stock listed.


Another interesting cpu is on page 19, the AMD FX4130 cpu for $69.99, made very interesting given you can get one of three socket AM3+ motherboards for "free" with that cpu. The 6300 is $89.99, btw, again with three "free" motherboards (I put free in quotes because one or two have a $10 MIR attached.) Otherwise, both those cpus have a $40 off any compatible motherboard bundle discount.

I think this is as good as it is gonna get for the 3570k price, especially for a brand new retail version. I would hop on it if I were you. But if all you do is play single player games, then there is no reason to upgrade. But, if you are playing multi-player, then there would be a significant and noticeable performance difference between the two.

Yeah all i would need are cpu mobo cooler and ram and i could prob recoup some of the cost by selling off my bundle.. I can upgrade gpu later and be futureproof for a while.. Guess ill hit up MC after work

Another way to see the prices is to go to MicroCenter's website's CPU / motherboard bundle pages: Intel Bundles and AMD Bundles. You aren't limited to the four or five motherboards that are shown along side each CPU; any compatible motherboard would get a discount (some bundled LGA 1150 motherboards get a $45 discount, while others get a $30 discount). If you would rather look through all of the motherboards, the sales brochure is the best way, though. You don't have to use the online viewer (I hate it); another option is to download it as a PDF. The PDF doesn't contain links to the items, though.
