This is down from $349, six months ago was $399. I would imagine this is the last price drop. It's probably so low because the next model came in (EQ278C, very similar specs but I don't know the coating/glossy on it).

May be YMMV. Philadelphia PA store has 8 left at the moment I am posting this.

I bought mine at $399 about 7 months ago and am still very, very happy with it. Used for work 8+h/day. Be aware of the glossy screen. The picture so far has stayed bright, clear and even.

I resurrected this thread because it has some useful information in it and all that changed is the price.

Do you ever play games on it? I'm curious how it deals with games like Starcraft 2 where things are moving on the screen and the background is static, and also games like first-person shooters, where the entire scene will rotate/scroll etc.

This is that goofy one that Microcenter and the Auria describe as "Clarity Resolution 2880x1620", then give the true native resolution: "Panel Resolution 2560x1440". Supposed to be decent for the money, and if there were problems out of the box you would be dealing with MC locally (unlike buying directly from a dealer in Korea).

I was at MC this past weekend, and I saw a stack of a few of them, but I avoided them, because I thought that they were "overdriving" the panel, and thought that it would look slightly blurry compared to the panel's native res.

Are you telling us that it is possible to run at a 1:1 pixel-accurate res for the panel with these, by slightly lowering your res in Windows?

For $350, that wouldn't be a bad choice.

"Panel Resolution 2560x1440"

Yes this is the native resolution and 1:1. The higher, advertised resolution is complete shit and bogus, but the native res is fine.
I can't speak to gaming, no idea.

After reading lots of reviews, I would say this is pretty comparable to the Neixus Vue 27, which runs for $410-$450 with the same inputs (you can find a slightly cheaper Vue with DP only). The Vue does have have a 2 year warranty, vs the 1 year for the Auria, but you can buy a 2nd year for $50 I've heard.

Jeez, $350...I'm going to put it off for a month. If I still have the hankering at that point, MC's only 4 miles away. I'll definitely buy a 2-year warranty though (are there any better deals from SquareTrade?)

As I said in the other thread, I love mine.
Though a word of warning, the Power brick gets VERY hot and must be kept someplace ventilated. I put mine on my desk behind the monitor and haven't had any problems.

This is the "N" model, successor to the EQ276W. It has the power supply built in. There is good ventilation on the case and even after 8h I would not call it unreasonably warm to the touch.

Another price drop so I brought this back with the proper edits. $299 is outrageously cheap for this screen IMO.

EDIT: Ugh sorry, I thought I could edit the thread title but looks like I can't.

I also purchased this monitor last time it was on sale at MicroCenter. I cannot speak highly enough about how awesome it is. I also use it 8+ hrs / day for work and at the native resolution it looks awesome! Still very very bright, even, no degradation at all. Im very tempted to pick up a second one at this price to replace the 24" Acer panel sitting next to it.

You can. Just edit the original post and choose the advanced option. Once in advanced you'll have the option to edit the title also.

I did edit the title in Advanced but the thread listing is not updating. I should probably not have used such an old thread for this. Live and learn...

I have the 24" version of this monitor, and it's really nice, especially with the 16:10 aspect ratio. The screen is bright, with good viewing angles. I don't know about color calibration, but it seems OK after you change the color mode.

Southern? If you mean the one in the city, it's not even mid-city. It's on the north side. The Westmont store, while suburban, is much further south. Maybe you were talking about that one?

I've has this screen over a year now and it's been great. Any and all PC gaming, PS4/Xbox One, and desktop usage has been flawless. It's 2560x1440 native, not whatever "goofy clarity resolution" that was mentioned.

Yeah, I meant the Westmont location as the southern one.

my coworker has an apple cinema display he's willing to sell to me for the same price. What is your opinion of the old used 30" apple cinema display and this 27" for the same price

If I see this correctly, the Cinema 30" needs dual DVI, and it's probably fairly old. Who knows how good that backlight still is.

OTOH, the Auria can be driven over DisplayPort. That lets me hook it up to a laptop and get full resolution, which is important to me.

The glossy screen is the only negative I can ascribe to the auria, and if that's not an issue I'd just go with it.
