HHGregg and CompUSA carry Olevias but I doubt they would PM a limited quantity BF sale. Worth a shot but it's a long one IMO.

they will not PM

I'll post an update on Friday .....

You're lucky or the manager hasn't gotten the word, because nearly everyone at FW asking the stores about this (including myself) has reported that MC will NOT price adjust this year if you buy in advance. They have done that with prior BF sales, but not this time.

the 37" one does not have a tuner. hd-ready

o yea...no such thing as a interlaced resolution on LCDs. You can send it a (i) resolution, but it downconvert, reprocess, de-interlaced, etc to the panel's native resolution.

Ok... so the 42" is basically a 768 resolution? Not a 1080?
Should I steer away from this resolution? Go with a true 1080?

If you do get it in advance, and get a "price adjustment" you may void the rebate for being out of the range of dates. Be careful..

bump because this seems like a great deal.

I am looking at the 32" because I want a cheapie bedroom TV to replace a 20" CRT.... Closest MC is about 60 miles away.
I will call tomorrow to see how many they have.

Anyone else confirm this? I couldn't get through on the phone.

The columbus ohio store has just shy of 200 of the 32" and 37" and over 330 of the 42"

Yet my friends at work are still saying to get there as soon as they open if not a bit earlier, so I don't know.

Has anybody seen these models in action, I took a look at them, and they looked less then stellar. But its quite possible it was due to people messing with them, there were a lot of people there, so I didn't get a chance to mess with one.

I am also torn between the 37 and 42. The 37 seems to be the sweet spot, but everybody says to buy the biggest you can afford. I will probably go with the 37 unless someone talks me into the 42, or if they run out of the 37.

I talked with an employee Wednesday and he said that they had over 200 of the 42". I played with it in the store and I thought it looked great and just as good as the Sony next to it.

I'll be there at 6am to get a 42"er. I highly doubt they will sell over 200 TVs to the "before 6am" crowd.

I've looked around on avsforum and everywhere else, and I can never seem to get an answer as to how the 32" Olevia looks as a PC monitor.

I don't own one, but it should look fine if you can handle the low res. It wouldn't be great for gaming, but I don't see why it wouldn't work for normal PC stuff

42 or 37, which is the better option? 37 seems to be the sweet spot of price to size, but lacks some of the features of the 42. Just wondering if the increase in screen size is worth the loss of sharpness due to larger pixels. Is either of the video processors better then the other? I know the ATI in the 32" has issues.

It looks like the 37" has HDCP, it seems everywhere else I look at it that feature is listed. If so, I think that I might try to convince the SO it's a good idea

80 - 37"
100 - 42"

First person in line - 6:00 yesterday night.

I was ~110 and arrived at 3:00 AM. We picked up a 37", 2 42", and I have to go back later to redeem a voucher on a 32".

Picture Quality = nice. It looks really nice through VGA with my PC playing NWN2 at 1360x768
