MicroCenter Ivy Bridge Prices

Do you think its worth it for me to take public transport to my nearest MicroCenter?

For me I would have to take the 7 to Grand Central, and then take the Metro-North to Yonkers/Fleetwood Station.

According to google, it should take me about 2 hours (4hrs to and back). With their Ivybridge and Mobo deal, I could potentially save upwards to 100 USD (minus Metro North Ticket costs). The only concern is the time consumed and the ease of returns if product is DOA as I'll to make another round trip.

So long as you don't get mugged that sounds ok.

Couldn't you just wait until you had something else you had to do in that part of town?

I am still trying to figure out why they did that deal. Did they have that many of them sitting in inventory? I would imagine they would have sold a boatload of them even at $240 or $220 but they jammed a deal so good out there that I am still scratching my head trying to figure out the reasoning for it. Considering how quickly the price went back up to $260 I am thinking they moved a ton of those chips in just a couple days.

Could be many reasons... if I owned MC I would rid my i7-2600 stock and get as much cash as possible to stock up on the i5-3570k purchases...

I was in a very similar situation regarding time, as I posted above. The savings was well worth my time, although if something is DoA, then I'm either making another long trip or waiting a couple of weeks for warranty support.

I was willing to risk it, we'll see if I'm rewarded.

Btw, how long do these MC offers last? I won't be able to buy my set until like late May or early June until after finals?

And also, I can't seem to find a CM TX3 evo anywhere online or in store?

They always have it... sometimes with different Mobos... or there are coupon codes/facebook deals added into the mix to make it cheaper...

I got an i5-2550k for $135 with a facebook coupon code and $15 off friends refer friends microcenter code... I sold it to my brother for $150 and picked up an i5-3570k with mobo on sunday ... I sold that mobo to my brother too...:awe:
