MicroCenter Ivy Bridge Prices

I just spoke with a GA Microcenter Warehouse person on the phone, he said they have 3570k and 3770k in right now, for sale at 11am tomorrow.

But, he said the price would be $349.99 for the i7, and $249.99 for the i5......he would not comment on Combos.

I guess ill be waiting, those are tough prices........

I figured id post in case anyone was planning on heading to microcenter tomorrow.

Hoping Newegg won't mimic those prices

No surprise here, with the demand so high in the next few months or so, it doesn't make sense to sell them at a major discount. They'll sell even at MSRP +10%

Not too surprised. Sandy was only ~$40-50 cheaper than buying online, and the 2700K sold without discount for months and months.

I imagine the Ivy CPUs will keep heightened prices at least until Sandy stock is flushed.

I guess I will wait for the price to come down before buying a 3770K then. There is no point to buy now when I already have a 2500K that does 5Ghz easily.

Give it a few weeks and then see what pricing is. Once supply line is completely full then you'll see the prices come down some I'm thinking. Also depends on how popular the IB cpus become. Those 3570K chips should come down closer to the $200 mark. They were originally projected to be just north of $200 to begin with IIRC. MC will eventually get the 3570K below $200 I'm thinking. Especially once we get through the Summer and towards the holidays then you'll see some really nice sales.

With the 2700K at 329.99 i have a feeling the 3770K will be higher maybe even 349.99

the prices quoted would be surprising... if they are correct they would cirtainly be a change of tune from a retailer who typically sells below MAP (minimum advertised price) (and well below newegg and intel's suggested retail price) in-store.

It's possible the quoted prices are not the in-store prices... they have a funky way of getting around map rules/regulations, by not technically allowing people to buy them unless they are in the store (no online/sale delivery).

When sandy bridge came out microcenter was far below map, I believe the i5 2500k was $179.99 even right when they got them... they were buyable in-store a few days after newegg had them in-stock. newegg at the time was like $250 for the same cpu.

that pic makes it look like its $190 and $290 straight up, not including any discount with a motherboard combo

basically a $10 price premium over the current 2500/2600K MC pricing, thus not so bad.

When I said with the $50 discount, I meant that MC was offering the $50 MB discount that they've had with the SB. I didn't word it well.

MC priced them down sooner than I thought they would. Kudos to them. I knew NE would price gouge. They always do. Won't last long though I'm guessing. Should see prices drop to near suggested pricing soon.
