Killer deal, just ordered one. The warranty is supposed to be 30 days from Micron and 1 year from Samsung. As for the specs, OEM's such as Micron often have specs similar to but different from the models sold by the manufacturer. The Samsung 1100p has a dot clock of 205 while the 1100p plus has a dot clock of 280. The specs for the Micron 2100ex on Micron's support site list this monitor as having a dot clock of 280 even though its max resolution is less than the 1100p plus.
Spec.'s:
Samsung 1100p - 205 dot clock , 1600x1200 @ 75hz max.
Samsung 1100p plus - 280 dot clock , 1800x1440 @ 75hz max.
Micron 2100ex - 280 dot clock, 1600x1200 @ 85hz max.
In other words these monitors are not identical in every respect.
Why? I don't know, ask Micron or Samsung. Maybe just meeting Micron's requiements.
I was looking at buying a Compaq p1100 which is based on the Sony CPD-G500, the dot clocks are the same but the Sony has a much higher max. resolution 2048x1536@75hz versus 1920x1440@75hz for the Compaq.
The only difference between the 1100p and 1100p plus is the faster dot clock and higher refresh rates. The Micron 2100ex seems to spec out between the two - i.e. 280 dot clock and 1600x1200@85hz max resolution.
By the way the Compaq p1100 is only $699.99 on Compaq's factory outlet, sold as excess new stock with a one year warranty. But it was over $800.00 with shipping and tax so I bought the Micron 2100ex, only $395.90 shipping and tax. I really wanted the flat screen trinitron but couldn't justify twice the cost.
