I went ahead and picked up the Compaq P1100 for $750 shipped. Flat screen, higher resolution and refresh rates, better warranty. Thanks for the info, Iverson!
My 22" Flat screen Viewsonic P220F will be here today. I am so excited i got butterflys in my belly just thinking about it only another 5 hoours and up will have it here. :disgust:
Im using one of these at work.... I dont like it at all! This monitor is not even close to being flat. It does not do 16x12 @85. But for 380$ not a bad deal at all. Rather stick to a trinitron tho
Does this monitor do 1024x768 85 Hz without problems....? Would this spec give the monitor any problems later on? Need to get a new monitor soon. Is this a good deal? Anyone get it in yet?
It had better do 1600x1200@85hz that's what the specs on micron's website say the max is on the 2100ex.
On a side note... you might want to think twice about buying it. When I ordered mine on fri I was told by a CS guy 1 year warranty and 30 day return policy. Now the same guy that I ordered from on fri (when I checked on a tracking number) said that it's 30 day warranty with no return policy. I confronted him with saying "you said 1 year and 30 day return, had it been any different I would not have bought it" of course the CS guy replied with "I said no such thing". Now I'm having to wrangle with corporate in idaho with the sales manager at e-additions (micron company) lying to me. Of course since it's been sent already (on mon) they refuse to cancel the order. I don't know, seems micronpc sucks.
Well, I'm still waiting for someone (early buyer) to post a review of the monitor here.
I ordered on Monday 10 AM EST, and just got UPS tracking no. Scheduled to arrive Friday.
I don't expect a flat screen, but I don't like those. I like a gentle curvature like my Samsung 950P. Expecting the Micron 2100EX/Samsung 1100P to be comparable.
I got the monitor. The curve on this puppy is getting kinda annoying =). I think I am too spoiled by my PF790 19inch Viewsonic.
Good monitor for the price none the less. Gonna try to see if I can sell it locally for some + extra cash and put some more money in and get a flat 21 inch.
I am running it @ 1600x1200 85hz don't see anything wrong w/ it.
How is this monitor for multimedia stuff. Like watching movies
or editing video stuff. I would appreciate if somebody
throws some light on this.
Thanks.
For 406 bucks my room mates were amazed by it... but I've been using flat monitors for too long I can go back.
Other than that the monitor is purty nice.
I played music videos and a few games on it. I was amazed how nice it was nice. The text quality wasn't as good as my PF790 but thats a flat monitor.
Got mine today. It does do 16 by 12 at 85 hz. It's kind of fuzzy at that resolution. I guess I have been spoiled by my viewsonic PF790. It'll take some getting used to. My PF790 looked concaved when I first got it. The Micron looks like a big bubble but I am sure it will get a little bit better after some time. Fair deal for what I paid.
I am returning this monitor. There is a discoloration in it. Just FYI, as usual, you are responsible for shipping back to them for the return, but otherwise, customer support was good.
WARRANTY?
Haven't got mine yet. Could someone who has already recieved theirs help clear up the warranty situation. Does the box, packaging, or documentation contain any more information on the warranty. I was told that there was 30 days from Micron and 1 year from the manufacturer (was told that was Samsung).
Was also told by Micron that there was only 15 day full money back (less shipping) return. Has anyone returned theirs to verify this policy?
One more thing. I think this monitor must be a combination of the Samsung 1100p and 1100p+. It has the same vertical and horizontal bandwith, and the same dot clock (280) as the 1100p+ but has the .26 dot pitch tube of the 1100p. Maybe thats why the max resolution is less than the 1100p+ which has a .25 dot pitch tube.
How much is the curvature. Is it gentle? I have mag innovision
DX700T. It has a gentle curve. I would appreciate for the info.
Are these still available.
I live in NJ and paying $50 shipping, total was $401, what the hell ever happened to the $30 or so shipping. That is why I hate phoning orders in, they say one thing and do another.
eia430, if you don't want it refuse to receive it on shipping and contact your credit card company.
This will cost them a lot more as they will have to cover the shipping back to their warehouse and it will cost them on the chargeback, also the credit card companies will ding them if they get too many chargebacks.
This is what I would have told the guy on the phone. "If you don't honor the warranty I was sold I will refuse shipment and do a chargeback on my credit card" This would get their attention if it could be gotten. Sometimes they only want to help a customer when it will cost them more money not to.
