Just got this monitor hooked up, and all seems fine. One thing I'm curious about is, will it run at this 1800x1440 without crapping out the monitor? I am very pleased with it so far.

I just ordered one !

Nick, at Micron, said it has a 30 day return to Micron and one year through Samsung. He also stated it was comparable to the 1100P+ ?. Also said it was shipped from Micron in Idaho. Crazy, no one there has the same info.
The monitor will fit my desk, but now I have to cut my wife?s desk to get my old 19? Hitachi to fit her?s !

Side note:
You can get a BNC connector at:
http://www.symmic.com/computer/
$11.95 + $5.00 SH

I hate to sound too naive . .. . but what is the benefit of using the BNC connectors?
Thanks

Holycrap, in principle , the BNC cable should have higher bandwidth and better transmission line characteristics (impedance, termination) and result in sharper crisper images with less ghosting, ringing, and other artifacts. Usually more useful at higher frequencies (refresh rates) and depending on your monitor and video card you may/may not notice a difference.

Thanks for the info on the BNC. I'm currently using a Samsung 900P running a TNT2Ultra card, and will be using an AIW Radeon on the 21 inch Micron. Would anyone suggest that the BNC cable would be useful for such a system?
Thanks

bnc cable is good if u have a quality monitor.

and don't crap out and get a cheap one -- it's like if you have a kick@ss stereo setup, and u get cheap cables because, well, they're cheap.

spend some money on quality bnc cables and you'll be set

Got mine today! It is brand new, unopened, and mfg. date of Aug. 2000. No problems whatsoever. I've been doing CAD work for about ten years now and have wanted a 21" for as long as i can remember. No it's not a flat screen trinitron but it cost less than $400 shipped. BTW the screen is about as flat as you can get w/o being a true flat screen. The manual is very sparse though, it lists 1800x1440 as the max resolution but doesn't give a refresh rate. The only screen modes listed are the factory presets, no complete table. 1600x1200 @ 85hz is a factory preset though and looks great. I could have gotten a new 19" flat screen trinitron for close to the same money or could have paid roughly double that for a new 21" flat screen trinitron, but in CAD real estate rules. Also try talking my boss into paying $800 up for a new monitor. I did talk him into upgrading my computer with the difference I saved. Can you say Thunderbird 750, Abit KT7A, 128mb PC133, ATI Radeon. I don't care that it's not a flat screen trinitron for the money and i challenge anyone to find a new FD trinitron from a reputable seller for less than $750 + shipping and/or tax.
Overall it's a steal of a deal if you must have or lust for 20 viewable inches of quality display for the least possible cost. The only possible downside to this deal is the warranty. There was no mention of any warranty other than the standard warranty policies listed on the back of the one page sales reciept. It does say that you have 15 days to return from date of shipping so you better make up your mind fast if you like it or not. Beyond that I was told on the phone, along with other people in this thread, that you get 1 year through Samsung but absolutely no mention of it in box, packaging or sales reciept.
It may not be the absolute best 21" out there but for the money I'm goin to live with that and have fun using my new upgrade equipment.
Love this forum!

Bought some BNC cables made by Belkin for 30 on the Forsale/Trade. I think those are purty good quality. 30 bucks though.

One note about using BNC cables with this monitor. It won't work well unless you have an .INF file for a Micron 2100EX or Samsung 1100p or 1100p+ of which there are no files to my knowledge. If you use the DSUB cable, it will be detected as a Plug and Play monitor and set the refresh rate accordingly at 85Hz when running 1600x1200 resolution. Once you try and use the BNC cable, it will detect a new monitor (default) or you can manually select Plug and Play monitor again but it will only do 60Hz which is terrible when you try to play a game of Q3A. The other way to bypass this would be to use a similar INF file I suppose. I have a 950p and used that for a while but it was only doing 75Hz at 1600x1200 resolution. Bottom line is don't use the BNC unless you have an .INF file otherwise use the DSUB.

Just got the Compaq P1100 mentioned earlier in the thread...whoa, is this a SWEET monitor!!! Kicks the $@#! out of the NEC 1350 22" I use at work. Anyway, $750 for this monitor is a great deal, worth every penny.

Just got the monitor today...
It's a keeper. Very much like my recent Samsung 950p..similar quality of image, resolution, and color saturation.
No slide-out control tray, but the on-screen menus are identical to the Samsung's.
I'm running at 1600 x 1200 and 85 hz. Tried 1800 x 1440 at 70 hz, but seemed a little fuzzy, and flickered under my flourescents. "User's Guide", (tiny little pamphlet) states 1800 x 1440 max resolution. Also states, Samsung is responsible for product compliance. Yes there are BNC inputs at the back.
Works good, looks good, good to look at; great deal.
I'll rely on previous posts and Samsung for warranty, but at this price, (and this size monitor), if it lasts as long as my two year old Compaq V90 (crt hull breach..imminent failure!!!!), I can't complain.
Size is about 19" deep, actually less than the above Compaq (20&quot, and slightly longer than 950p. This is not a short neck, and not a flat screen; just very gentle curve.
Thanks gang for the great lead....!

Some here says Micron charges tax to ALL states, is this true? I got charged here in Texas, though I'm not sure why since I didn't think they have any presence here. On the flip side it seems Walmart.com didn't charge me tax for my purchases, though obviously the B&M stores are everywhere

A couple of posters had also complained about being charged $60+ for shipping. My CSR didn't break the costs down or anything, but from the given total I could easily calculate that, factored with the sale price and the $30 shipping, the remainder matches 8.25% TX tax exactly...

Micron has tax for all the states. I asked this question to
their salesman and he said that they have presence in all
51 states so they charge sales tax for all the states. Hope
it helps in the confusion.

Thanks.

LOL, does anyone else see what's wrong with this sentence?

51 states?? I just figured they added one when I wasn't paying attention. Also, a 21" monitor for $380 +tax sure looks tempting to old guy with thick glasses. Crucial (also Micron) 256MB Cas2 for $90 shipped - I see why this is an expensive place to hang around, need to break this addiction.
