I had previously used my headset with onboard sound and had no problems whatsoever. Recently I bought a new computer with a Sound Blaster Audigy. My headphones are working fine, but the microphone does not work. I tried to record something in the Windows sound recorder, and it seems the microphone was not hooked up properly to the sound card. I did standard green pin goes to green hole pink pin goes to pink hole.
I tried removing the sound card, uninstalled all of the Creative software, and enabled onboard sound in my BIOS. Windows did not see it, and Control Panel told me there were no sound devices.
Can anyone help me either get the sound card to work properly or get windows to see my onboard sound? I'd be happy with either, though obviously I'd prefer to get the sound card which I payed money for to work.
