Is it two copies or ten copies of MCE? There is one serial on the back of the disc sleeve.

Usually they give ten licenses, but that wasn't clear for MCE.

By the way for all you October Action Packers (that doesn't sound right...), they failed to include the Windows XP (the gold disc copy for OPK practice) serials in the box they shipped. You need to call the Action Pack number and they will give you a single license code good for 10 activations of Windows XP Professional.

Well, if you figure that is is $299 to sign up... and if you do not currently own Microsoft Office 2003 then you have already got your moneys worth. Of course, you only legally own rights to it for a year. Still, odds are that there will be a new version of Office next year... plus all the other software. So... very worth it, even for home users. Particularly home users like me who really need these tools to learn how to run them before we get to the work environment.

Dont forget that the action pack "gives" you 10 licenses for the OS and applications.
How much is office2K3 pro ? $300 ? x10 =$3000
And free upgrades as long as you renew.

Is that 10 Licenses per item or 10 total.

IE you can install 2 on XP then have 2 office, 2 visio, 2 project, 2 virtual pc to use the 10 licenses?

Seems the guys who call me for the partners program do not know whether I am MSDN or Action Pack.

I wish they would stop calling me. How can I opt out of the partners program anyway?

Pretty soon Microsoft will start disabling features on unlicensed software. Office will quit working, Control Panel will disappear ect..

They know you have the software, if the fine for downloading some $1 MP3's is a couple of grand what is the fine for having $40,000 in illegal software?

Pay the subscription or trash the CD's.

On a plus note, I got my Action Pack update yesterday- it had Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 AND Windows XP w/ SP2 (10 licenses each). Woohoo! That was worth $199 alone

Did you get a card with the extra keys ? I only recieved two MCE cd's with the key on the back of the sleeve and no explanation of the licensing.I also got the Xp w/sp2 which i figure will work with my current 10 license.

Sometimes they give you 1 number with 10 , sometimes they give you 2 with 5, and sometimes they give you 5 with 2. Not sure why.

Uh, yeah. But what di YOU get?

My MCE came with one number. I don't know if it's good for ten activations.

Did you get one,

or two,

or five numbers for MCE?

i was in the same position when my subscription expired last year. but to me, i found it work spending $200 to get any updates and new stuff that came out.

but indeed, you are supposed to "destroy" the material. i really doubt anyone does though.
