Microsoft Equip now offers Office Home & Student 2007 (3 installations) for only $69, but what happens after 1 year? No more updates or does the s/w become non-functional?
Non-functional, that's my guess....really not bad though, especially if you have multiple computers needing the applications or if you're someone who annually subscribes to another security suite anyway (not counting the differences in AV effectiveness between suites).
It does not expire in a year, you can continue to use and get updates. You cannot buy an "upgrade" to a newer version hower, when that becomes available. You would need to buy a new full version if you were so inclined.

Really...the article totally gave me the impression that the software operated so long as the subscription was active. Is there anywhere that specifically outlines how it works?
