Microsoft fails.

I got Vista x64 and had no problems installing the new software update.
Now, that is not to say that the firmware update is going smoothly. It's quite the opposite, it won't bloody install! I get error code C00D11CD when trying to update my player.

Mine worked fine

I do like the new updates! Didn't expect them to update the actual design inside the player but they updated that as well. Just looking around I like it! Feels a bit quicker, and its definitely smoother.

Find the folder where it is trying to install to. DELETE IT.

Go here --> http://ccleaner.com/

download and install the latest version of Crap Cleaner. Clean out the registry ONLY AFTER
MAKING A BACKUP!!!! You may have to clean the registry as many as 4 times until CCLeaner reports 0 errors.

Re-boot your computer and again clean out the registry.

Re-boot and try re-installing the software.

He was able to get it working. He had to enable services and eventually got it installed fine.

for real. What's a real MP3 player? An iPod? Zune has better audio than those shitty things. I don't know how the audio compares to offerings from iRiver or Creative, but it's really good. I also know, for flash players, the Sandisk players have great audio.

Alright, for those of you who are apparently as unforunate and miserable as I am, try this:

go into your Services and start ALL services by clicking on it and choose "Start". Don't adjust any of the settings (Automatic/Manual/Disabled). I'm sure that there were smarter ways to do it, but it worked for me. You'd think such Zune support would be able to come up with a brute-force method...but no, instead they just go around in circles.

Sadly, the Zune Scene forums are even worse than the "advice" here. If you complain about a problem with the new software there, they'll basically say that it's your damn fault and you should feel bad about insulting the almighty greatness that is Microsoft.

Wow... and I thought that Apple fanboys were annoying :|

No kidding. It's well documented that using the Zune software is akin to having an illegal grappling hook abortion. And anyone who actually doesn't mind having to goosestep through ten thousand MS recommended procedures just to get their damn Zune to sync should stop eating directly out of Bill Gates asshole and go out and meet some new assholes.
