OLD POST:
Go to staples B&M with todays OfficeMax flyer. There is a keyboard with in-store rebate for $9.99. Get the staples 110% pricematch gaurantee, you have to print out the Pricematch Policy from their website to avoid bullsh!t at the store, however.

I got bullsh!t when I tried to pricematch a keyboard today at best buy, for an older deal discussed here.

YMMV...

NEW POST:

print out officemax flyer and officedepot flyers. look up microsoft optical scroll mouse, and microsoft internet keyboard. rampage your best buy, you know the drill.

pay.
pocket rebate.
pricematch.
perfect
purchase.

i read that somewhere...

As usual, I am beaten by someone else in posting a great deal! Going Monday at 10AM to pick up both the keyboard and mouse.

FOBioPatel - why not edit the title to reflect both the mouse and keyboard?

I don't know how you price match these two items.
In my neighborhood BestBuy flyer, both items are $9.99 ($24.99 - $15). Same price as OfficeMax and OfficeDepot.

Where can one of these OfficeMax Flyers be found...I don't want to have to go all the way to OfficeMax to get one, since I would just buy it from OfficeMax if that was the case. Thanks

all these websites have the flyers posted on their websites, visit their homepage and look for a banner or link for in-store specials or something along those lines.

you pretend there is no rebate, at best buy. you price match the price you paid, with the price of the mouse/keyboard at officemax/officedepot.

and to the guy who wants a breakdown, you get paid. do the legwork and get the flyer printouts if you want em

enjoy

BEWARE. The rebate for the keyboard and the mouse has the SAME OFFER NUMBER meaning you CANNOT get both at the same time. You must use two different addresses to get both items for free (get paid $5 to buy them).

Nothing in the BB ad indicates that the rebate applies only to the mouse or the keyboard. So I am going to send in both with my real address and see what happens (too much hassle to use another address).

I scanned the BB ad page for these items (along with rebate forms and all receipts). If they try to shaft me I will just take the ad to my local BB and politely demand my $15!!!

Purchased these two items this morning. Walked from the cash register to the customer service desk to get my pricematch. Worked like a charm . . .

nice. bought the keyboard since one of mine is getting old. Buy it at the cashier, go to Customer Service, pricematch. Office Depot price is only 14.84 so once I pricematched and when the rebate comes, I'll get paid 19 cents

May have to get the mouse tomorrow for the heck of it. But I hate waiting for rebates and don't really need the mouse...decisions, decisions...

Stupid me, I used a 10% off coupon when purchasing the 2 items, the cashier only took 10% off the mouse. When I went to price match, the CSR used the 10% off price for both items to price match. So I wasted my 10% off coupon and lost on maybe a buck or two(don't wanna do the math...).

pricematched the mouse at best buy to staples for 15 bucks, and the guy says because

i am pricematching, i won't get the recieptand he kept the rebate reciept and rebate form.

sounds like bullshit to me but best buy is pretty shady on rebates, so i don't know.

If you want the $15 just go back to BB. Purchase the mouse, pocket the rebate printout, walk to returns counter, tell them you changed your mind, credit the mouse back to your credit card. Mail in UPC and rebate receipt, walk away smiling knowing "you won!"

yah, did you buy then go to CS and pricematch, or try to pricematch at the register? buy first, pricematch at the CS counter is key. Rushhounds idea seems like an easy way to correct things

That won't work if the rebate is a BB rebate (i.e. being sent to Calais, ME). I bought something at BB ~2 months ago which had a rebate, found & purchased it cheaper on a no-name web-site (BB B&M's don't pricematch web-sites, espcially no-names), returned the item to BB but mailed in the BB rebate. Even though I sent in a BB Rebate Receipt, BB Rebate Form, and an original UPC CODE, BB sent me a letter saying that they rejected my rebate because "the item had been returned" (which indeed it had). At least they were nice enough to notify me by US MAIL that the rebate was rejected. Most rebate clearing houses require you to track the status of your rebates yourself via their web-sites and keep on top of reject rebates yourself.

Thus, if you submit a BB rebate using a (rebate) receipt of an item you've returned, you may end up with nothing (actually less than nothing -- you'll have lost $0.37 on postage).

Now... if you still have your ORIGINAL STORE RECEIPT (not the REBATE RECEIPT), you're probably safe sending in a photocopy of that ORIGINAL STORE RECEIPT w/ your rebate form (be it a new BB B&M rebate form via a product re-purchase/re-fund or a rebate form you grab off of BB's web-site). In my experience, true BB rebate offers accept COPIES OF RECEIPTS, but YMMV. Furthermore, I've never had a problem using the the WEB-SITE rebate form even when purchasing a product at a B&M (which gives a cash register printed rebate form).

Good luck.

Hey that is good to know! I have "had" to do this before to avoid the price match aggravation but it was indeed with a manufacturers rebate. Interesting that they keep that close of a tab on those things!

Yeah, w/ a manufacturer's rebate, you're free to pull all sorts of tricks.

I got both today, it was such a hassle finding them in stock! :| drove around for about an hour.

Does it say 1 rebate only? Are you guys who bought both going to send to another address, or send for both with 1 address/name?
