Sorry but I couldn't resist. I started using Linux about 10 months ago and I'm really liking it. Here is my experience in a nut shell...
So why not help stop piracy and give someone you care about a copy of Linux. Don't be content with being the same as all the other sheep. Step out and be different.

- - Started with Redhat which showed me what the possibilities were but was too pre-formated.
- Tried Gentoo but it was way too wide open and over my head.
- Gave Mandrake a spin and had a little more freedom than RH but still too restrictive.
- Installed slackware and liked it. By this time things started to make sense to me.
- Tried Mandrake again and was reminded that this was the wrong direction for me... I want to be free.
- Went back to Gentoo and haven't looked back. it's like I took the red pill and I'm starting to see things for what they really are.
