Faxed in my request for an Intellimouse Explorer replacement last Tuesday, using the fax number in the original post. Got an email last night saying it had been shipped 2nd day air. Thanks, OP!

I got a letter saying they are unable to process my request. They are unable to read the proof of purchase I submitted. How do I get it nice enough so that they can understand what it says? I only need to send the part with the serial number, right? I tried sending the entire image and the fax took forever. I do not have free long distance, either.

So, you don't have to call the 1-800 number before you fax?

Also, is there a way to scan and fax it over the internet (and has a scan worked for anyone)?

I faxed in a photocopy of the bottom of my IE3.0 without calling the 1-800 number and two days later I got an email receipt for an IE3.0 that was getting shipped to me free of charge. I was mildly concerned that they were going to upgrade it to an IE4.0 (have one of those and I hate it, loved my IE3.0). Thanks for the info!

I called and was told to fax.

I've checked my Winfax 9 history and it makes the scans look terrible.

I haven't gotten any confirmation.

I faxed three times on 2 different days.

Awesome!!! I just faxed the info for my first Intellimouse Explorer. I don't know why I held onto a broken mouse for so long. There shiiping me a new 3.0 Explorer F.O.C.

Anyone know of a free demo of an online faxing service? I dont have a fax machine, and cant access one readily.

I just received my mouse today...it's nice, they gave me a newer version of Intellimouse Explorer.

Microsoft is the shiznitz!

I got an order confirmation yesterday. They said that they will ship me this:

INTLMSE OPT 1.1 W32 PS2/USB EN/XC/F

Did anyone who requested a replacement for the Intellimouse 1.1 (beige with 2 silver buttons, one on each side) get their mouse upgraded to the Intellimouse 3.0?

I spoke with them on the phone and was told to fax my information.

I faxed them a half a dozen times with/without cover pages.

I typed the P/N's and S/N's and asked that they confirm receipt via email.

I've never heard anything from them regarding any of my faxes.

No need to send that many times. I sent a fax several weeks ago without any response either. The mouse arrived a few days ago.

Does anyone notice that Microsoft's Bluetooth Mouse breaks frequently. I have 5 in my office and THREE of them went dead!!!??!?!?

Mines wasn't like that, but by the looks of the ship date, it could be out of stock and they will send you a new order # later.

Followed the OP's original instructions as he clearly stated.
Faxed mine using Microsoft Fax on Sunday...received no confirmation, but did receive my brand new mouse on Friday.
Shipped via DHL.

WTG Microsoft!

I called them again.

The first CSR months ago gave me the WRONG fax number.
This CSR told me that all hardware replacements go through Buffalo.

I told him that the scans in my doc where black and unreadable to say the least but that I had typed the S/N's and PN's in the doc.
He said that was fine. He said all the scans are bad when faxed.

My doc still asks that they confirm receipt via email.
The fax went through to Buffalo.
I haven't gotten any response in the last week.

i faxed mine in over the weekend, to the number 716-447-7330. is there any way i can check the status, or do i just wait a couple of weeks and if i haven't received anything in the mail, try again?

Will this work for the Microsoft Desktop Sets? I have a set that have stopped working. I have the Wireless Optical Desktop Pro.

I phoned and got approval for my Intelimouse Explorer in March.
They gave me the wrong fax number.
So, I got nothing in March or April.

I called again to explain and was given the correct fax number to Buffalo.
I added another mouse to my fax that wasn't previously approved vai phone.
I didn't get any confirmation of receipt of my fax as I had requested.
However, I delete much that ends up in the junk folder of my Hotmail account.
If the "subject" or "from" section didn't mention MS Supplemental Parts Replacement, I probably deleted it.
I got what looks like a NEW Intelimouse Explorer via UPS today.

I didn't get the 2nd mouse replacement that I added to the fax.
Do you think it is being shipped separately?
Do you think it is never coming since it wasn't previously approved via phone?
I read that some people were sending faxes straight off without getting prior approval via phone.
I'll give it between a couple of days and a week to arrive.
I'll call again if it doesn't show up.

Thanks for your opinions.

I'm not sure why everyone is so afraid of the phone. Give them a call and ask about it, it's toll free.
