what?! no! ms rebates are one of the best and quickest rebates out there

In general, people feel that Microsoft has an excellent rebate reputation. Just be aware that while their promotions may extend over a long period, there often is a requirement to submit the rebate 30 days after purchase (at least I've seen this with some of their software rebates).

Well, I have very bad experience with microsoft rebates. I tried it 3 times. 2 times I never got any rebate and only one time when I got my rebate I have to caqll there rebate center 4 times to get my check.:Q

You might want to check out our rebate thread. It has the MS rebate link along with many others.

The MS rebates take longer in my experience since they moved to a different location. They used to come in 4 weeks, now they come in 8 weeks.

I did the Xbox DVD kit rebate and from the day I mailed it out to the day I got it was 17 days. That's freaking insane for rebates.

I've never had trouble with MSFT rebates, by far the best I've come across.

Hmmmm.... I can get microsoft software for "free" at school.... but I indirectly pay for it by paying a technology fee which is added to my tuition....
Can I pick up a bunch of titles, for which I receive a receipt, and submit them for a lot of rebates??

No, because you don't own that Microsoft software you get from your school in most cases. If you actually read the EULA for those copies, you'll notice that it states it can only be used for educational purposes. In addition, when you graduate, you're supposed to return the software and any copies you may have made, unless you opt to buyout the licenses for any software you may be using.

Additionally, the software is probably academic versions, and the version of the software that you get rebates for is the full retail version.
