Downloaded today but for whatever reason it's not sitting in my W7 system tray like 1.0 did - although the process is still running.

Normal?

Check the Taskbar properties > Notification Area > Customize

bottom left:
Always show all icons on taskbar

I updated it last night but didn't get a chance to dig into it to see what's new. Anybody know what they've changed or added?

Sorry for bumping this...didn't realize it was from last month.

I think they pushed it out as a 'recommended' update now. I did one of my machines on lunch today

My MSE auto-updated to the new version. I noticed that it uninstalled the original, and the installed the new one, and this time, it didn't create a desktop shortcut.

Haven't really noticed what's different, although I did find an option to disable membership in "MS SpyNet". I don't think that they gave you the option to completely opt out in version 1.

Anyone have any snazzy graphs comparing detection rates to the old one or other products?

MSE asked to upgrade today. The only difference I notice is a grey-colored background in the app itself.

Just a reminder (or warning)... If you connect to a VPN that uses client posturing (verify AV is running, OS version, patch level, etc. ), MSE2 may not be in the definitions yet and it will fail. This is true with any new AV client, not just MSE2. Early adopters can be punished, so be aware.

It also gives you the option now to opt out of sending usage statistics or whatever it's called, back to MS. I think there might be some other tweaks to the scheduling options as well.
