It's the Micrsoft SideWinder Freestyle Pro gamepad, there are some other SideWinder gamepads also have rebate.

I think it had been posted before and I got mine more than 1 month ago.

Try to pricematch with buy.com ($40.94) or onvia.com before purchase to make it free (add something to hit $50 to use coupon). They refused to pricematch with onvia.com and used overnight shipping of buy.com to pricematch after I bought it

I would suggest not to get this POS. The gamepad is horrible, and the motion sensing crap sucks. I can't believe I wasted $2 on this thing when i bought it in July.

i agree this pad kinda sucks...man...
my d-pad is like all messed up..when you try to press up, down, left, or right, it usually makes me go diagonal... the motion sensing is interesting, but wears off after a while. my favorite pad is the trusty classic sidewinder

If you dont like this pad, get Logitech Vibration Feedback Wingman pad, Its got great reviews in PC Gamer or Maximum PC, it has force feedback of a sort(like rumble pack on dreamcast) and its only 29.99 at compusa, staples may have them too

I love my Gravis XTerminator and think it is still the best gamepad, if not considering force feedback.

Though the Freestyle Pro may not be good for other games, its motion sensing works great with those games which you have to keep moving, e.g. Motocross Madness 1 (came with the gamepad) and 2.

For what it's worth, you can get the Precision Pro for just 11 bucks more. A friend of mine has one of these and he likes it.

The Gravis Gamepad Pro USB is another good gamepad. It's just a rip-off of a PSX controller, but has a great feel. It retails for around $18. . . .

Even if there is not a coupon in the box, Microsoft will honor the rebate. You need to get the toll fre number for the rebate center and call them or find one of the older posts here that detail the process. All you have to do is send a 3x5 index card with your name and address and the offer number for the rebate: promotion #497-00-664 and indicate that the rebate is for the $30 freestyle pro rebate.

Don't have the reabte center address handy but it is in Ridgely, Md.

By the way the wingman rumblepad is a much better gamepad and costs $29.99 retail (easy to find it for much less). In my mind it is the only gamepad availabel that matches the d-pad on the original sidewinder (I've tried 4 or 5 different gamepads and none come close to the rumblepad and the original sidewinder)

What's the tactile quality of the original Sidewinder (and the Sidewinder Pro) compared to a PC Gamepad?

And by that, I mean the WAAAY old PC gamepads... still using 'em, but I'm thinking of upgrading sometime soon, since simultaneous button presses is a pain in the ass with the Gamepad.

I called Microsoft's Rebate Center and was given these directions:

Write a note saying you did not get a form in your box. On this note, put the following information:

Your Name
Your Address
Your Telephone number
The promotional code #49700664

Along with the note, you need to send them:

Original top of the box with the UPC code
Original dated sales receipt

Be sure to make copies of everything for your records (or in case they lose your info).
