While I'll agree that microsoft isn't liable to compensate him for the loss of time, but he certainly deserves one to have to go through all that time and frustration. The fact is, he received substandard service. Any half-decent company would give something extra to make up for that substandard service to at least level themselves to even ground.
Additionally, he should get a brand new drive as his system was basically new when it broke. Refurbs are usually given if they break one month down the line. Getting a refurb for a DOA item is ridiculous beyond doubt.
if you got compensated for time and frustration i would have millions in the bank for all the time wasted in doctor apointments, at the DMV etc.
sure any company would give something extra..say a choice of free game (wich i beleive he was offered)?
should he get a brand new HDD? NO. he sent in (again his mistake) a USED drive. he should be compansated for that or given another used drive.
the SYSTEM was DOA (wich he claims. a MONTH after he baught it) NOT the drive (wich he claims he sent in when they told him to). so is he due a new drive for that? i think not. he deserves a refurb drive. that its. anything more is a bonus..
Waggy just back off now, please don't post in my thread anymore. The reason I am asking you to do this is you are just acting like a complete jerk/moron. I don't know why I have to keep repeating this, but IT WAS NOT MY FAULT FOR SENDING IN THE HARD DRIVE. THE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME TO DO SO. I did not claim they told me to send it in, THEY TOLD ME SPECIFICALLY TO SEND THE HARD DRIVE WITH THE UNIT EVEN THOUGH THEY SAID NO ACCESSORIES. I EVEN ASKED THE REP SHOULD I SEND IN THE HARD DRIVE AND HE SAID YES.
Yes the system was "basically" DOA, but the hard drive was sent with the Xbox 360. A Xbox 360 requires a memory unit (such as a hard drive) to properly play games. Since I don't have the hard drive I can't play games and that is why I am saying I do not have a fully functional Xbox 360 Premium. If I can't play games, then what else am I supposed to do with it? Watch movies? I'm sorry, but I did not just pay lots of $ for a less than stellar dvd player. Besides the Xbox 360's main selling point is to play games and that is what I intend to mostly use the Xbox 360 for.
Now we all know that refurbished hard drive are CRAP and when I mean crap I have had all the refurb hard drives die/crap out prematurely. Some refurbished items are ok, but one thing you do not want to buy refurbished is a hard drive. You keep insisting over and over again that Microsoft should send me a refurbished hard drive, not my original one, and not a new one. You really are hoping for me to receive a less than normal product don't you?
Look some people have nothing better to do in their lives except to make other's lives miserable and you are quickly becoming one of them. Just because I don't share your completely passive characteristics don't go on and try to force me to adopt your ideas. By passive characteristics I mean the fact that you don't care how much time I have wasted trying to get just a hard drive back. Not to mention all the stress I have had to put in following up on the issue and being completely ignored. As of today I still have not received the hard drive so it is still hundreds of dollars spend on a DVD player.
I'm sure you like to lose money and time, but I don't.
O yea and this isn't a simple wait in line at the checkout, for a doctor's appointment, or in traffic, it is something different. If you can't make the distinction between those two then I don't know what else to say to you.
It sounds to me like you've spent most of your time bitching and moaning about not getting things your way. MS owes you nothing but a hard drive, even if its a refurb. Guess what happens if the refurb doesn't work?? They replace it with another refurb, so you're still out squat. Its YOUR fault your stressing about it, mix ups happen and its a chance you take when you buy something. If you were that worried about it, you should've tested it within its RMA period.
Here's a clue. Try calling MS, and instead of acting like a spoiled brat, calmly explain your situation and try to get things resolved. DONT ask for compensation, DONT ask for a new drive and DO be polite, because the person your talking to is not responsible for your situation and you will gain nothing by being an ass to them.
