Microsoft Visual Studio.NET University events /w free copies of VS.net, Office XP

The computers need the .net runtimes to run you .net compiled programs =)
The runtime is on the windows component cd and you can also download it at http://msdn.microsoft.com/downloads...=/msdn-files/027/001/829/msdncompositedoc.xml

the next M$ os will have this already and so will every M$ os after that.

Visual Studio is MS's new development tool. It allows you to program in C++, C#, J# and VB, all updated with new features and using the .NET framework to allow you to utilize web services.


If anyone who went or is going, doesn't want/need their copy of Visual Studio.NET, I really could use the copy.

Hmm, weren't you able to program in all those languages in previous versions of Visual Studio. I was using Visual Studio Enterprise edition programed in most of those languages in there.

You could, but you couldn't utilize the .NET framework and new tools (including web services), which help a LOT. There are a lot of updates to the actual languages too. I'll see if I can find the information about the updates on MS's site.

Hey i just attended the VS.net program in Atlanta. It is exatly what the other say it is... good for the WindowsXP Pro(i got 2 in the bag by mistake i guess) and VS.net.

and again there is the awesome food.

although the music was alright it was tooo too loud...

Just came back from Fullerton too, it was interesting and informative... Okay I got cool free stuff (installing visualstudio.net on my lappie right now!) and I wish I won something. It was funny they had to call out eight numbers for a person to win the MP3 player.

at the ucla one they had the singer of the band call all the numbers... she got all confused on the rio. since everything was visual studio .net. when they were raffling the rio , she was like... we have a visual radio,... ahahha. the like microsoft spokesperson lady pulled her aside and was like... rio mp3 player.. hahaha.

I'm not much competition as I live up more north, a bit west of Pomona (where it's great because most people here are non-computer literate, at least in my area, so I often CAN find those deals as no one else gets to them )

Ahh, so that explains the little joke the speaker made about the rio having the .net logo pasted on the player. I though he was saying that because everything else had it on there but the girl got kinda flustered.

Ok WTF man i was trying to install the daam VS.Net and it is giving me the 3 options at first... i install the components then try to install the 2nd options it tell me that i have to first remove VS.net then reinstall it...

I know i can figure it out...but i am being lazy... anyone know just how to install this thing exactly.

I noticed eBay auctions astarting to get cancelled, and eBay sent me an email sayin that MS stepped in saying these are Not For Resale so they're not allowing people to sell them
