If I remember my training you can upgrade to Vista home Basic for $49 and Vista home Premium for $79 from XP Home edirion if purchased after 10/31/06

How do uprade work? I have a legal windowq 98 disk from derll but i think i might have lost my coa. will teh upgrade disk work or dso i need the code? Also, do anyone know upgrade of a upgrade work? like I buy this, i got a upgrade xp disk, then can i buy a upgrade vista home prenium disk and it will work like that?

Vista Basic is a downgrade, home premium seems like a decent deal.

If you are updating the computer with Win98 already installed, you won't need a COA number to enter nor the disk. If you are doing a clean install, with the WinXP upgrade disk, it will only ask you for the Win 98 disk to be temporarily loaded so it can check eligibility, and it will not ask you to enter the COA. The Dell Win 98 upgrade disk should work fine. After your XP home is installed, activated and running, when you are ready, the Vista Home Premium upgrade version will work fine as your upgrade.

So will installing window vista upgrade disk deactivate the windoiw xp home cd-key? Bexasue I want to dual boot xp and vista just in case some software work on vista while some only work on xp.

If it's like xp you should be able to do a full install it will simply ask for your xp disc. So create a new partition and install a clean install.
