Microsoft's RMA/new hardware policy?

Just curious - what was MS' policy regarding RMAs? One of my semi-new MS Intellimouse Explorer's are dying on me and if I recall right you just have to call a certain number, give them your serial number from your mouse and they send you a new one. Is it different now or still the same? And would anyone happen to have that number? Thanks for the help in advance!

same afaik. don't have the # handy, but I just got mine replaced last month

ok from noww on ONLY but microsoft software...you see its microSOFT, not microHARD, they make software, their mice are suck...you haven't learnt in your year and a half on AT?

Actually, I'm more impressed with MS Hardware than Software.

They might have some quality issues on certain pieces, but from a feature and design standpoint, MS sets the bar.

MS Hardware RMA is the best I've ever seen. Call the CS number, which I don't have on me at the moment, explain your problem, and they will Airborne Express a replacement ASAP. You don't even have to send back the faulty one.

Uhhh you think MS Hardware sucks? LOL what cave do you live in? Their gamepads are great, and their mice are great. I love their keyboards too, but a keyboard is a keyboard

uh whats up with microsofts website?

I enterd in the part number of my old mouse, a first gen version sitting in the closet messed up for years now and it says its expired and won't let me continue with a free support ticket?

but on their site it says it comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

so should I call and will I get a new one?

Yeah, just call 'em up. Tell them you went through all the steps on their website, like uninstalling drivers, reinstalling, messing around with the registry. Then give them the serial and they'll ship it out to you in 10 days. They actually sent me two by mistake, but I'm not complaing.

Limited = you pay like $20 for the replacement after 2 years.

Uggh! You guys are CRUEL! There's nothing wrong with Microsoft's hardware. Matter of fact, their mice are made by Mitsuumi and their keyboards made by Chiconey and Keytronic. Those are some DAMN good brands. What were you expecting? Lite On and Genius?

The warranty is the same as always. RETAIL hardware, you call Microsoft. OEM hardware, you call the folks you bought it from. If the vendor that sold the OEM product doesn't do the warranty, then you never buy from them again and bitch about them everywhere you go. That simple.
