I noticed something very interesting yesterday when fiddling with graphics settings. While Crossfire does not yet work, it suggests that the ram on my GPU is actually 2x what each card has individually. That is, it appears to stack. my Cf 7970s showed 6GB of VRAM in the Textures page. Have to look into this more. Didn't really try, just made a mental note to look at it later.

I'm really enjoying this game. Maybe because I've yet to actually play the Batman games. I really like the nemesis system as well.

I think I could be way deep into the story of this game, but I've been dicking around killing captains and war chiefs the whole time. Pretty sure I've done everything you can do in the first area of the game, but I could keep hitting the power struggles forever I think. I hear the story isn't super long in and of itself, but you can make the game as long or short as you want it to be.

Pretty much, in my case I've been playing it for 9 hours now, and I'm still in the first map (according to the reviews there's two maps). I've killed a lot of Captains, no Warchief yet, however. I did reach the first story quest in which I can lure a Warchief by doing something specific (can't recall the name of the mission though). I haven't done that mission though. I enjoy liberating caged Caragors and perched-observing the carnage from a distance too much to do anything else at the moment.

I do really like how the story unfolds so far though. And it's good to see Gollum again, well-animated, well-acted too.

Question - has anyone here converted an Orc to be on your side? I got to the point where I can use the ability to gain intel from an Orc captain, but I don't have an option to control him yet. Does this option become available once you reach a certain level or point in the game?

It's about halfway through the story. I got to that point and I haven't done any more story missions. I just run around killing captains and war chiefs.

I like the game, but I feel like I'm already in rinse and repeat mode already and I'm only 20% through it says. Can you clear areas out later in the game?

The respawning just feels like you are not really accomplishing anything.

This game is so much fun, I'm having difficulties maintaining focus on objectives and just slaughtering and playing around with terrorizing Orcs, or using stealth tactics to manipulate fights with Caragors and Graugs, against the far-too-curious Orcs following my distracts.

Monolith really nailed this game's development. This is Skyrim beyond. It. Just. Needs. Multi-player. Then I'd literally never sleep.

I've seen that stacking memory from running multiple cards in the past with other games/benchmarks (Unigine's Heaven bench does this too IIRC). No matter what any software says, memory never stacks like that on multi-card configurations.

Does this game use a 64 bit exe? Can someone tell me how much system memory the game is using by looking at resource monitor?

64bit.

I don't recall off the top of my head the memory used. My system definitely does not have a problem and it's far weaker than what you have in your sig.

Bad console ports have often done this in the past, its one of the big things that shows up the lack of SLI support.

Don't give me that crap. This is a joke, more PC getting the shaft. Oh well the game looks dumb anyways, aimed squarely at 15 year olds.

That was my first, second, third, and fourth thought too. It doesn't make sense for it to stack. But with the ultra pack installed and running I get ~60fps at 1080p on CF 7970s that don't crossfire. Doesn't make sense. Same framerate as High, and yes I am sure the texture pack is installed.

I'm playing this on a 70" TV. I can assure you, it doesn't suffer from it. The game looks very nice.

Yeah I'm quite impressed with the overall look of the game. I love the effects when it's nighttime and raining, and the draw-distance seems pretty massive. The whole "this game doesn't have X feature so the whole thing is BS" argument doesn't make sense to me. It looks good and it's fun. I'm certainly not going to avoid it because it doesn't have the exact kind of AA I want. That's not to say I don't think they should have included it for completeness' sake. It's just not a significant enough drawback to keep me from buying it. AA seems like an overall odd place to draw a line in the sand regarding game purchases.

The hailing is a nice touch. I don't recall ever seeing that in a game before. I am not clear if time of day or weather impacts anything in the game though, which is odd since you have the ability to fast forward.

Had another interesting thing happen in this game last night. Apparently, one of my friends has this game too (we are connected as friends on steam). He was killed by one of the captains I have yet to meet in my game, so I was given a side quest to avenge my friends' death by killing the captain. That is cool!

Hah, I ran into that last night as well. I hadn't realized it was anyone on my friends list, but makes sense now. I avenged some person 2 times.

I thought AA was pretty cool when my monitor was 800x600 but then 15 years later I'm running 1600p and I don't notice AA other than the fps drop that comes with it.

Game doesn't run too well on my 680. I have limited it to medium textures (which is worse than the consoles) and then otherwise its a mix of ultra and high. Frame rate is in the 45-60 range most of the time, which at least with gsync is smooth enough but its disappointing to find it can't utilise SLI and hence is running like I had a mid range card from 2 years ago. By the time Nvidia releases SLI drivers for it I'll have been done with the game, as is so typically the case when they aren't there on release day (shame on your Nvidia, its even one of your sponsored games as well).

The game is OK, I like killing orks but I can't say I am very good at the big fights. At least I have stopped trying to go for the ground kills when outnumbered, they do die without it which wasn't obvious in the beginning when they explained the combat system.

yea that is odd, I'm running on a 480, and haven't updated drivers in....probably a year since none of the newer drivers have much impact on it, but it runs like butter on high settings. (not the HQ textures)
