These are not for those who would place value in having a "high quality" case. These are simply the lowest prices anywhere on a box for installing a motherboard, esp. when shipping is considered.

Ebuyer.com has this JNC model 4JA82(A) for $19.99 and this KingCase model 517 for $20.01. Both are midi towers with 300W power supplies, no fans. And free ground shipping.

I have ordered & received the JNC case and am somewhat disappointed in the low-gauge sheet metal and back panel stamping. What I am wondering is, if anyone has seen the KingCase 517 and what you thought of it?

Any other comments from direct experience with these cases would be appreciated. Thanks all.

Good deal for a cheap case. I ordered 2 after i got off of work, and received an email a few moments ago stating that my order had been shipped.

Thanks for the post.

Hmmmm! How much was shipping from the UK? When I check out the links, it takes me to a UK Ebuyer site and all prices are in pounds??

They have a USA branch. There are 2 flags in the right upper corner click the appropriate flag for your continent. I beleive the US site is based in AZ.

I noticed after posting that the cheap KingCase is not in stock, 30 days to ship. I want to know what the interior and/or back panel of that one looks like.

As for the JNC, don't say I didn't warn you. The front panel looks nice, but the back panel is dreadful, and it hardly weighs anything at all, the metal is so thin. Also a front mounted case fan will just recirculate inside-case air rather than pulling in outside air. Needs some ducting that doesn't exist.

There is one good thing, there are plenty of drive bays. You get
1 - dedicated floppy bay
1 - externally accessible 3.5" bay
4 - externally accessible 5.25" bays
5 - hidden 3.5" bays
(differs from ebuyer.com's site claims)

And from what I've heard, ebuyer.com is a good place to deal with, even if the phone number on their web site has been disconnected.:frown: I can't complain about their order turnaround or shipping time - even when they used Parcel Post for the case.

This place never cease to amaze me. People throwing money in the air buying $400 video cards that cost $200 four months after. And then people trying to save $10-$20 buying dreadful cases and power supplies in risk to burn their house down.

has anyone had any good experiences with them? the free shipping is very tempting... normally, places charge 20-30 for shipping.

I've never had a case burn down anything lol I dont think metal is a firestarter, as for the PSU tons of people use generic PSU's without modfications i wouldn't think they'd start a fire, because something like that happening would kill a company with lawsuits. The people who buy the 400 dollar video cards would not be in on this deal, but people who need an extra case or something like that will probabily jump on this deal. This is the hot deals section not the critisize the product section.

Thanks. The front panel looks sturdier than the JNC, with fan positions that will actually draw in outside air. But the back panel looks the same as the JNC. I guess all the cheap cases are doing knock-out slot covers which are flush with the back panel?

Power Magic ATX722A Black W/ Dark Grey & Black Face ATX 11 Bay Mid-Tower Computer Case W/ Spider Web Window Kit, Front Panel USB & 500W Powersupply P4 Ready

I've been waiting on one of these for over 2 1/2 weeks now and after two emails to them I finally received a reply stating they are out of stock and it will be at least another week before they had any to ship. They charge you extra to ship them in a box orther then the box the case comes in So if you want the shipping box it's another $4.00

Yep, the JNC case arrived in its product box, just 4 pieces of styrofoam protecting it. But since it shipped Parcel Post instead of UPS, it was fine! I've heard that ebuyer.com is good on replacing units that arrive with shipping damage.

I ordered the KingCase *mini* 517 over the weekend (before they became unavailable). I'll post back after I receive it.

[UPDATE]

I just checked on my order and its status is: "Awaiting dispatch." I was unfamiliar with that phraseology so I called their customer service number for clarification. Believe it or not, a live person picked up the phone on the first ring and answered my question in less than 30 seconds. The call is *not* toll free, but I'll trade that for the fast and accurate service.

BTW, "Awaiting dispatch" means it will ship today. A British phrase.
