Yea both are filled up with 10. Weird someone must have joined late last night or early this morning.

Do we want to make it 12 teams this year (and have one less bench player possibly)? If we do go 12, we'll need to do a live (but still offline) draft some night (we all have accounts on the yahoo im already)

We currently have 3 bench players correct?

So 13(spots) * 10(teams) = 130 players drafted

13*12= 156 (another 2 rounds of drafting)

12(-1 bench player)*12=144 ( a little more than 1 round extra)

11(-2 bench players)*12=132

Now do we also have another manager to fill it up to 12? Moving it to 12 would bump the jp to $90 in each league.

it has to be even numbers (no byes allowed)

so 12 would bump up the reward, but I'm just worried about the availability of good FA's (which helps keep the league active with adds/drops). I think it would still be ok with one less bench player.

i dont know about 12 teams. that might screw our draft.

he didn't check the league until saturday. PMs went out with the info on friday night. He was a day late and a buck short.

12 would make the draft longer, which is why a live IM draft would have to take place (I don't think we could get a 12 team draft done in a week).

I still dont think we can get the 10 team draft done considering its 2 leagues. We need to specify a time for like 30min - 1 hour to get picks done imho.

Why are the draft positions the same in both leagues?

And since the only person that is holding us up I dont see why we cant get the first 6 picks done.

I agree that some sort of live draft might be best (NOT the online yahoo draft), preferably at night when everyone can make it. I updated the leagues with the settings on the first post. I don't have a problem with doing the first round up to the DS picks this week, but...

first things first: 10 teams or 12 teams (less one bench warmer)? I need votes from the returning managers!! We have jbahseng and at least two other potential managers waiting in the wings for a decision, and can't get started without a consensus!

I keep updating the first post with draft positions. One spot still open (attention roncarter's buddy).

Remember, returning managers have the option of moving down to take any open spot. Those middle spots are starting to look better and better now with 12 managers. I'm screwed!!

by the way guys, someone mentioned doing the 1st round of drafts up until DS's pick before we do the rest of the draft in 2 weeks. after being screwed by drafting ricky williams in an early ff draft this year, i'm gonna go ahead and request that we wait.

How long did the draft take last year? I'm concerned because we only have a week to draft 2 leagues, and now with 12 players, it will take more time. Is it possible for DS to email Stark with a list of his top players so we can at least get the first few rounds over with? I'm ok with drafting early, as long as we pause at the end of a round.

And it's too bad we're not holding the draft on these boards. would be nice to boost my postcount

Any combination of email, IM, and this thread will be acceptable to get the draft done. I'm hoping that with the one week deadline, people will be a lot more motivated to get their team finalized (like waiting until the last minute to write a term paper).

so everyone, don't plan any vacations or other activities that will take you away from internet access for that entire draft week!!

wth is the point of drafting 1 round where we pick our key player for the whole season, and have the chance that that person goes down with some injury or other act of god for half the season? it's not like that 1 extra round is going to save us a ton of time when we do the rest of the draft.
