Tim Duncan (SAN) - An awful lot of the criticism of Team USA's
performance in Athens centered on fundamentals. They can't pass.
They can't shoot. They don't play the game "the right way." Well, I
beg to differ - there's one Dream Teamer who is fundamentally
sound. Hell, he DEFINES fundamentally sound. He'll also be thrilled
to return to the land where superstars get the benefit of the doubt
from the zebras, and every team doesn't play a zone that collapses
on him every time he sniffs the ball. In this land, Duncan will continue
to put up MVP-type numbers. His only flaw, of course, is freethrow
shooting... he was under 60% for the season.

the answer is a resounding YES!! Then you can get McDyess in the 2nd!!

Stark are you doing these writeups?

the "blurbs" are plagarized from the $10 yahoo draft kit. just a little sumpin' sumpin' to help the draft go by...

oh, and BaboonGuy is banned here on ATOT (bwahaha) but he picks KG #1 in league 2

And welcome CPA, who finally decided to sign up on the yahoo site right after I convinced a guy at work to sign up... so I guess CPA stands for Complete Pain in the A$$!! But the league is full now, so let's keep the picks rolling.

sorry, I didn't have a comp at home as it was down. This was the first chance I had to sign up.

Tracy McGrady

Tracy McGrady (ORL) - McGrady has traded in his Magic jersey
for a Rockets one this offseason, coming to Houston in a huge
multi-player deal involving Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley
among others. McGrady was all smiles upon learning of this trade,
but his fantasy outlook should be anything but positive. Under
coach Jeff Van Gundy's defense-emphasized, slow-tempo style of
basketball, McGrady will be hard-pressed to find nearly as many
shot attempts as he did in Orlando. Expect a hefty drop-off in
McGrady's output, as he figures to score around 25 points per
game. Still, McGrady should offer about 2.5-3.0 threes, 5-6
rebounds, 5-6 assists, two steals and 0.5-0.7 blocks per game. And
he might even improve his FG% with his refined shot selection in
Houston. Although McGrady might not be a no-brainer top-5 pick
this season, he should still be an excellent pick in the mid-first
round and would be an absolute steal if he falls to the late first
round.

no. get your own evil master plan!

keelin takes Dirk the Digglemeister with pick 5 in league 2

Dirk Nowitzki (DAL) - Dirk the Daring's overall production fell off
a bit last season - probably due to the sheer volume of Dallas
Mavericks demanding a role in the offense. Problem solved -
Antoine Walker, Antawn Jamison and Steve Nash have left the
Metroplex, and this is very much Dirk's team. We're not sure this
will translate into more wins... but we'd be very surprised if
Nowitzki's fantasy value doesn't rebound to 2002 levels, with 25-
plus ppg scoring, near double-figures in boards, decent assists,
steals, blocks, threes and solid percentages.

CPA takes StojaKovic, Kings.

Peja Stojakovic (SAC) - Stojakovic proved last season that he
was more than strictly a spot-up three-point shooter. Stojakovic
improved his mid-range game and took the ball to the hoop more
often, which opened up his outside game as well. Although
Stojakovic is nothing more than average in rebounding and passing,
he is the league's best when in comes to threes and one of the
league leaders in points. A healthy Chris Webber dimishes
Stojakovic's value slightly as he'll play second fiddle to Webber, but
an injured Webber translates into Stojakovic deserving top-10
respect. The loss of friend and mentor Vlade Divac might hurt his
morale at times, but Stojakovic's game shouldn't be affected too
much by the departure of his close friend. Expect three or more
threes per game and a 25-point per game average this season.
Stojakovic should be taken in the early-to-mid second round.

jbah should post sometime overnight.

waiting on prodigy for league1 pick

Minnesota Timberwolves
Who?s coming: Blake Stepp
Who?s going: No one yet
The Timberwolves finished first in the Western Conference last season
and did not feel the need to tinker with their lineup. And given
the slippage of their main rivals, that might be enough to stay atop
the West. If Troy Hudson stays healthy this season, he should see
good minutes backing up Sam Cassell at the point and Latrell
Sprewell at the two.
Center is still an area concern, where the T-Wovles used a combination
of Michael Olowokandi and Ervin Johnson. On paper,
Olowokandi (12.3 ppg 9.2 rpg in 2002-03) has no problem beating
out Johnson for the starting job, but Olowokandi's spotty focus and
balky knees could make this a contest.
Unresolved Issue: Wally Szczerbiak is an asset some team could
find attractive. There was one rumor that had him going to Portland
for Shareef Abdur-Rahim, but nothing came of that. The
Timberwolves would like to add another another big body for depth up
front, where they're a little light.

IMO, only the cheat sheets and projected stats are worth the investment. I got them last year, so just for superstition's sake I had to get them this year. If I lose this year I'll never buy them again. I also got them in fantasy football and my team stinks.

alrighty then!

Amare Stoudemire (PHO) - A quick look at Amare Stoudemire's
stats from 2003 shows another stud Western Conference power
forward... a guy you can count on for 20-and-10, a clear first-round
fantasy talent. Look just a little bit closer. Stoudemire started very
slowly, and fought a number of nagging injuries all season. At the
end of the year, he was a monster, regularly posting 25-plus points.
In the season's last three games: 29 points, 29 points, and 29
points. And he doesn't hit his 22nd birthday until November. He's
not as consistent as an Elton Brand, but the upside is tremendous.

Why take Elton, when you can take the guy who's not as consistent, but has "tremendous upside"? We need more of these adventurous, Elgin Baylor-esque picks guys!!

My choice was between L. James or Amare. But there are few players can post the same stat as L. James, and Amare may qualify for FC (may be the 2nd best after TD). If you look at his season end stat last year, he was avg 25 pts, 10 boards, 2 stls and 1.6 block. Beside we need more risk taker to make the league fun!

Guys, should we arrange for a time to post our draft pick? Or designate a time frame for each manager to make their pick? At this rate I don't know how long it's going to take to finish the draft for 2 league.
